    I don't call this process safe, but worked with a lot of people here
    could that be the main reason why your motherboard is not stable anymore? besides the temp decrease for me, i got better oc that i previously had... not much but its prime stable.

    No, it's not the reason. It's running perfectly now at 475x8, but with bios 705.

    Before bios 7XX -> 6XX stable.
    After bios 7XX -> 6XX crap.

    Rbs.

    This method just killed my board. I flashed it back to 0601 and now I can't even turn on my PC....keeps restarting on its own even before it gets to post....

    Hmmmm, I was tempted to try that but I was just a bit leery of it - now I know why. Sorry about your misfortune. From my experience your board is toast - hopefully you are still in warranty.
    It is a shame that Asus has put out a bios that will not allow you to go back. All previous bios's for this board have been reversible.
    I am not at all pleased with the 0705 - I have had to bump my vcore a good bit to maintain the same oc as before.
    I should know better - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Asus even tells us not to upgrade if you don't have a problem. Oh well, live and learn. X38 anyone?

    My flash to 0705 has been pretty good. I wish I could flash back to 06xx so I can test my 3D Mark 06 scores. All voltages, timings and other setting have not had to be adjusted.....In fact, I ran my q6600 at 3.9Ghz (no volt change) for a while before taming it down back to 3.8Ghz, my previous OC with an earlier BIOS.

    As far as this link:http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...4&postcount=14

    If you look at the guy's sig, he runs a P5K Premium, not a deluxe. I am not sure if this was meant for all p5K's or just p5k Premiums, or if he was helping someone with a p5k deluxe and just happens to run a slightly different board.......someone please correct me if I am wrong.

    TinTin did a lot of early testing of the p5K premium - He posted these BIOS reversion details on this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...151965&page=23 because some PREMIUM owners were having trouble reverting from latest 0504 bios to 0404. As you say -it may not have been meant for general P5K use.
    Personally I wouldnt used asus update for anything especially on a deluxe - I killed my deluxe with a failed Asus Update flash which is why I now have a Premium as an RMA replacement.
