Tried that and got worse scores. sdumper and I have been through 100's of settings with this board. Our conclusion was Trans boost is to be off with relax set to 0 or 1. Static read on and Clock twister to strong if your RAM can take it. This yields the highest 3dmark06 scores, everest bench scores, and fastest Pi times.

I'm one ofthe few die-hards that insists on using prime for stability testing, and nothing else, becuase I'm more than aware of how to properly use it. I understand what causes what type of errors, and what needs adjusting in a system based on the errors it gives, and I do not call a system stable until it can runn a 2-3 day run of prime. 8-12 hours jsut isn't enough for me.

Aha!! you are the person I've been looking for Prime95 is my stability standard as well.

I don't have your knowledge of what the errors mean and what to adjust when you get them in prime95. Where can I learn more about this?

I'm just getting started with this board and a B3 Q6600. I was running at 3.6GHz with prime95 and I ran two of the four cores for over 8 hours with no errors, but the other two failed after an hour and half or so with an incorrect returned value. I can't remember the exact wording of the error. i know it wasn't the rounding error message. Any ideas?

Yes, I found this out the hard way. I must have shut off / restarted / cleared CMOS well over 100 times from trying all combinations of ram settings. Im now using the 400strap with my PC8500 ram operating @ DDR1130 with transaction booster enabled to "1" no way could I get this speed using the 266 strap, none the less with enabling transaction booster My latency with timings at 5/5/5/8 is 49ns

Great At DDR2-1200 and 5-5-4-9, I can't select Transaction booster to 1 or 2, the system doesn't even boot... But at 0 it works and it gives me a nice boost for disabled 0 to enabled 0

From what I know you can't do that (TB to enabled = 0) with 4 DIMM's @ 1200MHz though.

0903. This is by far the most stable BIOS to date.



You might want to check your settings. I am getting what you see in the screenshot with 4x1GB sticks at DDR2 1215 5-5-5-15.

Don't forget to stick with Starp 333MHz or 400MHz cuz the 200 and the 266 do not work well

This is what I found out with my testing: NOT ALL rams work well on the 266 strap. my Corsair Dominators (Rated at 1066mhz) can do 1300mhz on this board, but on the 266 strap, it won't post past 8x470fsb.

Now, my Team Xtreem rams are rated at 800mhz, but can also run at DDR2 1300mhz. It can also run above 470 fsb to about 495 fsb (I believe my quad is the bottleneck here). Here is the Team ram, doing 8x475 on the 266 strap 5-5-5-10-25-3-3 @ 2.24v. You need the right memory - those rated for CAS 4 (I believe), and then you'll be above the clouds in 266 heaven


Edit: I didn't take it to DDR2 1200 because there is a latency change between 475-480 fsb which leads to about 1 latency higher @ DDR2 1200.

I'm in Sweden at the moment and desperately need to use startup repair on my Vista partition to fix an MBR problem, but I am only on limited internet access at the moment.

Yes. Read a feedback at forumdeluxx.de that says, that QFan runs better now. Another user flashed from 0903 and his OC settings are even stable with 0907.

Guys Bios 0907 is up on the ASUS site. I am going out to the football now so cant test yet. Antone testing please report results back here. Especially Quad FSB clocking and wether the straps are working correctly.

CPU temperature is 20° lower than before. 5°CPU in Bios.... first little bug. Settings for 450x8 from 0903 seem to be stable after a short test, no changes there.

Hi, as eSp!s0 has pointed out, the CPU calibration is back to the 'traditional' asus way of reading the CPU temp. Please note that with this reading it is taken from a external diode, that is why the core temps are higher. Comparing my temps, CPU in Probe says 20c, coretemp says 34,34,30,32c...
