But even with the latest concept, there might be some problems. For a air cooler, the heatsink is really small, so I doubt it will be good enough to cool the NB passively. Adding a fan on the second design does not seem to be that easy either, unless you use the walls around the heatsink, which will result in trapping heat inside, whch would also suck.
For watercooling, it seems to be about right, in case the water doesnt have any contact with aluminium.
Now for dry ice and LN2 there is the problem of a cracking O-ring. Even with dry ice, it will most likely crack after some time, so being abl to buy replacements is a mustAnother problem I see for dry ice usage: If you want to cover the while base with aceton to maximize the cooling area, then that thing will most likely be not high enough for dry ice. Without some sort of funnel, it wil be a mess
I would also prefer to get rid of the heatpipes. That way it could be sold as a seperate NB cooler for different mainboards. I am pretty sure there would be enough people that are interested in something like that for extreme cooling.

Like the idea of MOSFET cooling and backplate best. Would like to have better liquid/DICE cooling for them when needed as on my P35/790FX boards it isn't the NB that heats up to burning immediately but the MOSFETs.
The idea's are nifty though and going a good way. There's always a start and this is what you get when you throw an experienced enthusiast at a big enthusiast company with $$$ to invest. All the years of needing tids and tads here and there which many of us need but groan about regular and could make things much better can now be put into reality.![]()
Also, I can't see mention of it but are these pipes fixed or can you remove them? They look fixed but that would mean they are only made for one sort of board design?
