i was on the board from 2pm to 6 am
i got to 500fsb but not stable need to go to dfi bios school let me play a bit more and i'll post my template i need to get memory bandwidth higher
brother esau i love this board gives you full control of the board
i feel like a broco buster ridin a wild horse so much fun i wont get bored
even now compared to my p35c it feels much faster more responsive
i'm only usin 1 v-card do i need both floppy connectors?
i been setting gtl according to the p35 chart but i think it should be higher
please anyone gimme some info on glt
what is max nb and sb volts i can safely apply

Would it be possible to run 3 3870's in crossfire on this board?
Are there any comparisons/reviews on this mb yet? I haven't found any.
How does this stack up against the Maximus/p5e?
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/2600k......MSI p67a-GD55/2600k
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB.......4gigZ Corsair

I just got my system back up and running, but I have a couple of questions. I ended up doing a clean install with Windows Vista Home Premium, but when I was installing drivers, I kept getting a failure from my ATI Radeon VGA driver. I tried every version I had saved, going back to 7-10, and they all cause a blue screen after a few minutes. my work around so far has been to hide the driver update and use the generic Windows VGA driver, but the problem with that is my monitor is only running at 1400 x 1050, which is not its recommended setting.
My 2nd issue is that the ITE Smart Guardian software for the X38 will not show any data; if I use the Smart Guardian software from my DFI P35 series motherboard, it seems to work ok, but I am unsure if it is accurate or not.
My final issue is with CPU-Z. I have tried version 1.43, 1.44, and even the latest 1.44.1, and they all cause my system to reboot. Note that at this time, I have only a few utilities and programs installed.
The good news is with a modest 3375 MHz OC @ 1.2750 vCore, my idle temps in Core Temp 97 are 36-31-31-36 C, and Prime 95 load temps are 48-42-42-48 C. Smart Guardian is reporting CPU=43 C, PWM=48 C, Chipset= 31 C.
My NB is now water cooled, and I am running an Enzotech SLF-1 HS/fan unit (only 1/2" tall, so I can still use two video cards) on the SB. Next time I get a chance, I will add a 60 mm fan above the PWM area, and that should eliminate any heat related stability concerns.

i think they were right around high 60's to low 70's (coretemp readout)
i can not duplicate 3960 Mhz by passing wPrime 1024M stability bench like i did on my IP35 Pro...just a little disappointed in this board for not matching that.
way to many tweaks in this bios to get wrong and not be able to attain what i did on the Pro which had a fairly large Vdroop...droop under load was 0.05...the DFI X38 has some droop...i registered about 0.02 under wPrime 1024M bench at 3.8 ghz even with droop control enabled in the bios.
i can see why the Pro won the "Gold" seal award from anandtech.com...don't get me wrong...i am not bashing this board, just a little disappointed in my results...BUT...before passing final judgement, i will put my TRUE on the Q6600 to see if that makes any difference.

I believe I read on the DFI Club site that this parameter should be 'disabled' to eliminate vdroop. I could be wrong.
I will have my board Tuesday with a new Q6600. I will also test the current x3210 G0 chip I have and see how things go. Hopefully by Thursday I can post some results.

i'll give that a try..thanks!
you know what is weird...i am using way more vcore on the q6600 than i did on the IP35 Pro board since 1.55 vcore would drop to 1.50 under a wPrime 1024M bench...on this board, i am dropping to 1.55 vcore and it kicks me out of windows after doing about 10-20% of the bench.![]()
