Nice score. The OC'ed 8800GT's (single) seem to trounce every 8800gtx/ultra out there in 3dmark06 (if they are not on LN2/cascade/water/vmodded).

Your CPU clocks helped you much also

I just barely broke 14.1k with my OC'ed GTX (no vmods) and dual core. Am really wondering how much i would get with a quad @ 3600 or so.

    I'm getting SM2.0 @ 6231 / HDR/SM3.0 @ 6559.

GT's pwn in SM2.0 for some reason (higher shader?).

Thank's man! That's a really nice jump. Quad is definately the way to go for 3DM.

I'll be happy if I reach 14k with my system. I just tried a run of 3DMark06 with my CPU @ 3.8GHz (1.425v) and GTX at 625/950, but it didn't happen - 1 minute into the benchmark my CPU was steady at 62C, then the screen froze and my PC restarted. lol.

I know these aren't earth-shattering GPU clocks, but I'm looking for CPU stability before I really push my GTX.

I don't get it, if the GTX is supposed to be still king of the hill, why are they getting crushed by the GTs? I also don't understand why the GTs get such high scores in SM2.0? With my GTX @ 650-1650-1050 my sh2.0 is just over 6000 and my SM3.0 is 6300. Does the CPU help push your card that much or is my rig messed up?

its kinda lame how much the CPU test makes the score in 06. Us guys still on high clocked dual cores dont stand a chance at a comparison. Funny thing is the higher clocked dual core probably beats out the lower clocked quads in real games...

haha thats true but i think it depends on how the game works.. if its multithreaded then more cores is best if not then high clock duals as u mentioned

The extra memory bandwidth on the GTX isn't being used at such a low resolution, allowing the shader horsepower of the GT to come into play.
