Can you not even get it by following the Anandtech settings? Just change your ram strap to Auto instead?

I get 3.3ghz easily so hopefully all goes well today as I will attempt once again to hit 3.6ghz. Funny how a 80$ MOBO can easily hit 3.6ghz but a 300$ Mobo has issues. Maybe I should downgrade BIOS but it scares the out of me :P I think what I have is user error and not the actual hardware to be honest . Since I'm a noob maybe this board was not a good decision for me.
tbh i guess u better downgrade d bios...with that stupid 0903 i cant get stable at 3.6ghz too...after downgraded to 0802 is much better and easier

Thanks. I think I have tried those settings too but I'll give them a shot. How dangerous is a 1.55V on Q66 ?

For you, who knows how dangerous. For me, I've pushed the Q6600 on the BIOS 0903 to 4.1GHz at 1.7V+. was it stable under load? no. It took the voltage though, and all the smoke stayed in the chip.

I can choose the frequency now but I still can't specify strap..
I originally couldn't boot with anything but "auto" because I had Transaction Booster, enabled..

Using Vista 32 I used my old Asus Update from a A8N-SLI disk ( thanks to Kup ) My version is 6.0 beta it flashed me from 902&903 back to good old trusted 802

If you have not tried 6.0 beta on a 32bit OS perhaps you should give it a go

Anyway, best BIOS to stick with is still 0602 IMO and I'm waiting for the new one to come out as well, probably won't be anytime sooner than next year.
P/S: Btw, did you try Asus Update?
i did try asus update... the one that was posted on the "part 2" thread.

i'll try this before trying to flash back again. thanks for the info.

i'm thinking that this might be towards me... and yes, i have. i've been on this thread from day one and i've tride the asus update but it didn't work. i'm going to play around some more if the 266 strap doesn't work for me.

AsusUpdate that allows downgrading from the 09xx series
Please note, you must use XP 32Bit to perform the flash, as the software fails to work on an x64 OS

Select 'Options', tick the downgrade box and the flash with bios of choice.

Oh? Is that what it is? I'll try 266 bootstrap tonight. I can't get this puppy over 470 and lets see some screenshots with people in the upper 400's to lower 500's. I think it's pretty much impossible with a quad even though I know my quad can do 4ghz

IF you´re using Vista x64 and wanna downgrade bios.
    I did like this...

    1. Flash the board with 0903 bios.
    2. After the erase bios part, shut the computer down.
    3. Restart computer and you´ll get a message for bios recovery.
    4. Insert the CD that came with the box, or use USB-stick with the bios you want to be flashed. The bios must be named FORMULA.com
    5. After successful bios recovery you are set to go
