I think that he was not exactly a young guy then and this young slinky thing saw the kind of reception the movie had and sunk in the claws..and probably the lips too...
Even 20 years later they still love him here.
It's the manner..open and honest and that is a welcome thing to see in a person over here.

Agree, honesty can be a good thing. I was loved while living there (US - Atlanta mostly but traveled a lot) because they thought I sounded like Steve Irwin.
