Alltough it's a fast response/solution, such thing should not have happened in the first place.
Maybe EK was rushing things to get it in stores before the holidays?
I do hope that the extra nozzle plates will be ready by that time, I really don't mind running a restrictive loop.

No dude. To be fair, one can NOT account for every single mobo mfgr. out there. There is a STANDARD set by INTEL for specs, clearance etc, etc. Some mfgrs. choose to disregard these guidelines set by Intel - when they do who should be to blame?

Also, I would applaud EK for keeping his promise and release something. The last thing we want is someone who talk, talk, talk and don't deliver before several months or years...

Wit such a fast release timeframe, there is bound to be some issues and EK is prompt to promise a fast fix for it, which is great.

After getting through 3 DFI P35's recently, I have to say that comment did make me chuckle.

Well I tried Eddy's block on my Gigabyte P35 DS3 board, and I can confirm that it will not fit vertically, only horizontally.

The Northbridge sink AND the 4pin power thingy are both in the way

Look there, it's just not gonna fit... damn this really sucks... Eddy BETTER come up with something

    Glad you asked that.

With my Apogee GT the answer was yes.

With the EK Supreme my results say no. Horizontal is best.

Not saying my results are 100%, but that's just what I found.

    Garrett :

I've send Eddy pics of the block on my DQ6, so he can see how much clearance there's needed.
Anyway, he's working on it and all we can do is wait.

I have no tested indefinitely, as there is already a block mounted on my CPU but clearance even on the DFI P35 board seems close and that's the cleanest CPU socket area on the market (arguably).

If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.

he means that is ok for a dual core because it has only one die, so it doesn't matter which way the hole in the bracket goes, but with quads you have two dies to cool so it matters how you position the hole, now according to RLM that way (which is not logical) is better, but we have to see more testing to see which way is better

LOL things only get worse... I've bought the P5K-E since I'm about to puke on my P35 DS3 board... and guess what... neither mount will fit
horizontal means the mosfet cooler is in the way, and vertical means the NB cooler is in the way... guess I'll have to visit my uncle today, he can work miracles with metal
I've already contacted EK and a few replies back there is stated that there will be a LGA775 plate so in the end... all will be well... omg I sound like Winston Churchill

What would horizontal VS vertical orientation be?
Am I correct assuming that horizontal means that the 'EK Supreme' logo is parallel to the PCI slots and vertical means it is parallel to the Ram slots?

Also, how do I know which way the cores are arrranged in MY QX6700 on Maximus Formula? If the IO is left and SATA connectors ar right, are they side but side or one on top of the other?

Wow, that mountingplate has got to be huge then.

I have that same board, with my Dtek mounted horizontal i have about 10mm clearence between the mosfetcooling and the mountingplate.

Eddy is about to set things straight, don't worry.
