Can anyone explain to me why I fail the RAM test in OCCT 1.1.1b within 25mins yet I can prime blend for 15h straight? This has always been an issue with me and this build. It doesn't matter if I run my ram at 800 or 1100mhz, it will fail the RAM test in OCCT 1.1.1b within the first 30mins or so. Yesterday I prime blended my system for 15h straight without an issue before I stopped it myself. Seems odd to me. If I try any version of OCCT prior to 1.1.1b it fails in less than 10 mins. Strange how different version allow me to run shorter or longer when compared to other versions. I can however run the CPU&RAM test without issue. Is there something I should know? Anything I should be worrying about? Surely 15h of prime blend would call my system stable would it not?

It's a software error. I just hunted down a new beta version. 1.2.0.b07. This passed the full hour RAM test the first time around without making a single change to my system. OCCT is highly regarded yet it should be taken with a grain of salt as each version produces very different results. I am glad it was just a problem with the software and not my system however. So far the newest 1.2.0.b07 is the way to go for stability testing your system using OCCT.

I haven't got any proper 24/7 stable settings but I do have an E6850 that does 4GHz with 1.4625v 1.5vnb 1.35v vtt all GTL's @ 93. The GTL's make all the difference over 4GHz to stop it re-booting. I suggest you get Praz's cheat sheet from here: http://edgeofstability.com/index.html its a good start & then you can work from there.

No crashes, the bios on my mobo works like a charm, i just wanted to see if anything is different.
I've even swapped the slots for my ram from 2&4 to 1&3 just to see if it's any better.

Well, I got a brand new DFI LanParty UT P35-T2R sitting here behind my desk that I bought for a friend. Friend is flaking on payment so it looks like I may have to eat it and use the thing Think I'll like it??

I was really thinking about picking up the x38 version but then I don't feel like loosing $ on restocking and shipping fees!

I don't think it's much of a gain in performance for anyone owning the P35 LP to step up to X38.
It's better to spend that money on something more useful.

Did anyone have issues with the X-Fi and if so how did you correct it. It seems to be conflicting with my 8800GTX
