Thanks for the thoughts. I've tried the 2nd PCIE slot and I get the same problem. I've taken out the video card the ram and the cpu, reseated them all. If I don't have RAM in the board I get error beeps from the ext. speaker. If I don't have video card the system POSTs to the point of CHECKCPU, which I believe is a BIOS CMOS check. With everything re-seated, I get no error beep, just gets to the point of initializing video and then stops...with the video card in either slot. When I had everything taken out of the motherboard I set the clr_cmos switch to DISABLED and removed the 3v CMOS battery, let it sit for a few minutes, then put the battery back in and re-installed everything. It does not appear to have cleared the BIOS.

So...either the BIOS is fubar and is therefore not seeing the video card? Or, this motherboard killed my video card? WTF? Currently on hold with ASUS, they suggested earlier that I remove the 3v battery and gave me the steps to do so. The guy never suggested that the video card might be bad.

It's 100% stable. Been running this way for a few days now. 3 hours OCCT RAM stable. 30 minutes of 3dmark06 looping stable. 1 hour Orthos Blend stable. 2 hours OCCT "Blend" (slider in the middle) stable. Been playing games, folding, benching, etc for the last 3 days with no BSODs or reboots or lost WUs. As far as the RAM sub timings, I will have to get Memset going or do a reboot and look at them. I have left those on Auto for now as I was trying to get the main parts stable first. This is with 4x1GB sticks at DDR2 1215. Parts list in the sig.

yeah, could be.!! do you have any chance of getting hold of another video card.? that would clear things up, for your sake and asus too.
