    CPU is cooled with homemade chiller, with that run the temp was around 5C.
    GPU's- stock cooling, too bad they're A2's.

    I decided to try windows 2008 and wanted to see if it was any faster than Vista. Windows 2008 does allow you to decide if you want certain features loaded, but even with all of those features loaded it was quicker than Vista. The cpu score was quite low, but the other scores were almost identical to what I get in XP.

    @Flasker: Thanks for quick answer!

    It was the 32bit version. For both Vista and 2008. Loaded Crysis on it also and its actually runs better then Vista. Should have tried it with everything turned off. With all the features loaded, it looks just like Vista. I also tried 2003 64bit, but it was slower than XP 32bit, buy about 200 points. That kind of supprised me. Must be the drivers, maybe something you should check out when going for the record.

    I will definitely be running Win XP x32 for record breaking ! This is caused by instability of my Phenom on x64 OS above 2.5GHz. I should be able to hit 2620-2640 for x32 runs though ...

    My record breaking attempt is delayed till tomorrow due to new PSU delivery problems

    I know that Psycho_Eddie is getting older with every day, so I decided to publish my 3DMark06 scores with HD3870 and Phenom powered by my new HIPER 4M880 PSU!!

    As usual the score was growing in pain of my weak Phenom sample....

    With every 10-20 resets I was getting closer to where I wanted to be ....

    Finally score worth showing to you guys!

    ORB Link

    Summarizing - we can see that CF setup + Phenom is scaling VERY WELL with clock speed!
    If only 3GHz would be possible on my sample

    PS. Cards clocked conservatively at 863MHz core and 2492MHz mem - Windows XP MCE

    Your result is about on par with my Phenom @2.45GHz and one card clocked 865/1221!

    Is your 3870 at stock volts?? If yes, then amazing sample you have !

    Wow, nice results with the Phenom. Definately faster then the K8 in this benchmark. Planning to upgrade begining of the year and thought I'd end up getting a q9450, but with some of the results, may go with a B3 Phenom.

    Thanks for the compliment, yes its stock volts. I did replace the stock cooler with a TR V2, which does a great job of cooling the card. Depending on the ambient, the load temps range from about 42C-48C. Unless ATI Tool does come out with software voltage control, I'll be volt modding it as soon as I can get a VR.

    Very nice score. I'd say that you have the top single card score atm. Great job
