    No definately CPU Queen.

I guess I'll have to buy a Creative XHiFi Gamer sound card

I would have thought ASUS would have tested the boards onboard sound properly.

But judging by their appalling Forum web site and Tech support I shouldn't be that surprised. lol their Forum webmaster hasn't logged in since September 2006 , what a fiasco.

Have you tried 4-4-4-15 ? I found these looser timings better with my OCZ and they are running at DDR 912 and are quite cool.

I ran OCCT and they are stable.

this might not be the place to ask this but, does anyone tried using both LAN on the P5K-Deluxe wifi motherboard at the same time? i intend to use LAN1 for internet access and LAN2 to connect to a notebook(eliminating a router/hub) wherein it too can access the net thru mine. any help, guide or link/s gladly appreciated. thanks

I downloaded and installed 0703 - big mistake.
My system now blue screens when i add more than two ram modules.
No problem I say - just go back to 0404 - wrong!
When I try to flash the 0404 bios I get the message, "version in rom file is older than existing board.
Anybody know how to get past this? I have gone back to an older version before with no problem but now it stops me.
    I should know better .

    People. After flash 703,

1- Turn off sistem, disconect power cable.
    2- Take off batterie
    3- Clear CMOS 2min
    4- Replace batterie
    5- Turn ON sistem
6- F1 and configure your new BIOS.

    New settings added

Don't freak out just yet, Here is a possible solution:

Take all your RAM out except the one in slot 4 (the one farthest from the CPU). Turn your machine on and you should be able to configure everything. I think it has something to do with the amount of Northbridge voltage with multiple sticks of RAM installed. I run 4x1GB and sometimes it does this after a bad OC attempt.

I actually bought another P5K Deluxe because I thought my 'old' board was toast... low and behold I see a post on a forum, tried this solution out and now I have two MB's...so I turned one into a 3.6Ghz e6600/P5K Deluxe Rendering Machine Bingo, with extra parts(and parts I thought were bad aka the MB) I now have another machine

    Hope this helps!
    jeeka.

PS. 0703 BIOS did the same thing to me that happened to you. My fix worked. and am back at my same settings as pre-update.

actually, the board was not toasted. I was able to get to bios, just not, at first, able to run more than two ram modules.
I am still not able to revert to an older bios but I no longer want to. I was able to get all four ram modules running by bumping the Vdimm to 1.25.
The new bios is, otherwise, better. Vdroop has all but disappeared and stability is great.

wow they reduced the vdroop even more? I got 0.016 vdroop during full load for my Quad and 0.008 for Core 2. Now it is 0,00? I am still on the 0301

They must have REALLY loosened things up on the chipset timings because I can barely break 8000MB/sec. in Sandra now. Before I was getting 8450+MB/sec.

I had the chipset strap set to AUTO, and seeing as how there is now a 400FSB strap, I figured it must have defaulted to that, because I am running 475FSB...So I set it to 333Mhz strap and I am still barely able to get over 8000MB/sec.....

    Anyone else confirm this?

Pretender, is it the one labeled 293C? I have the same issue as of right now, usually I just disable it, then enable it again and the yellow icon goes away, this time though, it told me to restart to have the changes take effect. I will get back to you on this.
