Damn...that block makes me want to go back to watercooling....love the look

Performance looks pretty damn nice as well...time will tell where it ends up, though it does look very promising.

What is the mid-plate made out of?

Can't wait to see some more results and test with the various plates

    It's so quiet in here.
Nobody who has tested the block yet?

Anyway, ordered mine this morning and is underway.
I hope I can post some results by the end of the week.

    Nice,
    looking forward to your results.
Mine will be done on my E6750, unless I manage to find a very nice quad.

atm I use the alphacool nexxxos xp bold... around 52c load on all 4 cores @ 1.33v with Prime95 25.5 (yes 4 threads at once )
This temp is after about 15 minutes, I'll see what the EK block can do for me.

Oh and I have a pa120.3 with 6 x 1220rpm fans on it and an 18w DDC with alphacool top

    Right some more tests.

Put the GTX back in a few days ago. Thanks to cutting a hole out of the back of the motherboard tray this is now a doddle to do.

I have a digital clock which has a thermometer built in and a fan (not blowing on kit) which also has a digital thermometer. The readings are 2c apart. I think the fan is probably the more accurate.

I kept the readings to 22c on the clock and 24c on the fan. This took a bit of work as the midday heat came. Had to tweak the aircon to keep ambient on level.

I ran some prime tests at 3.6 ghz and 3.825 ghz. As I say swapping the blocks was a doddle, so when I put the supreme back in I could leave the loop and
    setup pretty much intact.

As per last test, sides off case and fans on the PA 120.3 at max. GPU at 1.47v. Both blocks were hard mounted with back plates and I used MX-2 thermal paste.

Note: I did 15 minute tests. I noticed that at Test 1 560000 the temps on the gtx jumped up a bit. More so than the supreme.

IDLE Apogee GTX 400x9 3.6 ghz.

IDLE EK Supreme 400x9 3.6 ghz.

    LOAD Apogee GTX 400x9 3.6 ghz. Temps up to Test 1 560000 51 51 47 46

    LOAD EK Supreme 400x9 3.6 ghz. Temps up to Test 1 560000 48 48 44 42

IDLE Apogee GTX 425x9 3.825 ghz.

IDLE EK Supreme 425x9 3.825 ghz.

    LOAD Apogee GTX 425x9 3.825 ghz. Temps up to Test 1 560000 57 57 51 51

    LOAD Ek Supreme 425x9 3.825 ghz. Temps up to Test 1 560000 55 55 50 49

One thing, I did mount the supreme the other way round this time. With the Barbs over to the right of the top. Supreme engraving on bottom and Ek on top.

My conclusion for what it's worth is that the GTX and Supreme are pretty damn close. The supreme is cooler though by about 2 maybe 3 degrees c depending on the overclock.

Just one thought though with the Supreme. Would like to see a bit of a redesign on the mounting plate. Due to the size and the layout of my motherboard I wasn't able to test out a vertical mount. On the Apogee GT bowed the V mount did seem to help a bit with temps. I also like the fact that on the GTX more of the components around the cpu socket are exposed for fan cooling.

Well that's my take, obviously look forward to seeing other peoples results. Either way a happy chappy

Nice work RLM .. takes some real effort to do testing let alone changing water blocks around... looks like the Supreme has the edge, maybe a wee bit more once the TIM is allowed to settle and given the local environment every bit helps .. lucky its winter, only 29C today

Please note his testing is with a Apogee GTX and NOT the Fuzion w/nozzles. The Fuzion w/nozzles is also a few ºC better than the GTX.

Wow your mounting is way off, look at the core temps. Run some stress testing and adjst spring presure till the core temps sorta even out. I've gotten them to the same as each other other or 1c differnce on all 4 on my quad and got far better performance out the blocks

He said the blocks were hardmounted, so no springs involved here.

also some cores just run hotter than others sometimes... can due to IHS (need to lap both sides to be "perfect") or differences with core height due to soldering process.

All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

Nice results, I see it seems to be on par with Fuzion with the nozzles kit.

I guess we can't be wrong recommending the Supreme as well.

Some quads are different, you're lucky with yours. I did have a q6600 before, not such a good overclocker, but temps were more even across the cores.

Just dug out this grab from my first q6600, which shows that.

    http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/5...0bench1mb4.jpg

I've already lapped this Q6600 and as mentioned it's hard mounted. There's bugger all I can do about the difference between the cores. Guessing the problem lies under the IHS (Edit: As STEvil mentioned "differences with core height due to soldering process.", sounds like a possibility)

got far better performance out the blocks
Just on that point. I'm no expert, so if I am missing something let me know.

I do make an effort to make sure I screw down the mounting plates evenly.

What's your ambient temps, when you are getting much better performance?

Albeit sides off case, my setup is still mounted in the case, and isn't directly under A/C. In addition as mentioned I have the vmodded 8800 GTX in my loop.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Like I said, its the equal of the bowed and nozzled FuZion and a tad better than an Apogee GTX. Its supposed to be much better than everything out there.

It didn't say it was supposed to be a ton better than everything out there. It was shown to be 5-6 degrees cooler than a Fusion. Not a Bowed Fusion. Not a nozzled Fusion. And definitely not a bowed and nozzled Fusion. But those 5-6 degrees do put it right at the effectiveness of a bowed and nozzled Fusion.

Now that still puts it right in the top of everything out there and could potentially be a better option for some since it is an all in one that doesn't require any further modification.

It's definitely worth the money, hell I paid 46 euros for it, whereas the FuZion is more in the range of 60+ euros... quick decision if you ask me

Haven't installed it yet... but will tonight, as I said I'll keep you posted

Hmm so far 52c stressed quad load Prime95 25.5... all 4 cores
sorry no screenshots you'll have to take my word for it, it's 2c hotter in my room than with the nexxxos xp so not much improvement there, maybe the paste hasn't settled in yet

    Pretty toasty though, 4 cores 52c @ only 1.33v...

PS this is with a 8800GTS in the loop and a PA120.3, DDC 18W, 6 fans push/pull 1220 rpm and a totally open case
    (pump-->8800GTS-->EK SUPREME-->PA120.3-->RES-->pump etc...)

I will be getting one soon enough and will have a QX6700 @ 3.4 and we all know how hot 6700s run, as well as a 8800GTS and 680I NB block in the loop.

I am eager to see what I get for temps.

Will post results when I get the block, though will not be for a little while.
