you know it amazes me how naive people can be by looking at the layout of a board...its crap because it looks crap...LOL come on you guys!!!

That AM2 board could be 8 layer, totally designed to push CPU and ram to silly clocks...you just don't know.

you have to realize boards may sometimes look ugly, but if the design is 100% for overclocking who gives rats @ss as long as it performs
Got a problem with your OCZ product....?

Do YOU have any guesses on what the heck the G-SURF365 is supposed to be?? I don't see why anyone WOULDN'T be completely flabbergasted by just seeing the layout.

What's your impression of ASUS Republic of Gamer series? duluxe package? large amount of accessories? or pretty board design? The G-SURF365 certian will break your impression. It is only a low end nforce 630a mobo. It so weird that Asus would risk their brand to release the low end mobo.

Being a low end mobo it have limited numbers of slot: only have two PCI plus one PCIe, two standing DDR2 slot and one AM2 CPU slot. The biggest selling point of this mobo is its G-Guardian system.

G-Guardian actually is a protective system made with plastic. And extreme user won't think it is interesting.

G-Gardian have two parts: Memory and I/O:

thief with screwdriver can easly unlock it..

Here it is, the I/O part of G-Guardian, it will lock your keyboard and mouse.

actually only a scissor can break this protection

Hey Big Toe, the ugly looking board may not be crap. but G-surf365 is absolutely a low end mobo for computers of public area or internet cyber cafe..

Both boards are hideous...but really I don't care that much about how they look. Just the same when I look to replace my current nForce frankenchip board to run a quad I won't be buying nVidia's 680i+ 45nm quad core fix...er 780i...TYVM.

so I take it that slot above pci-e slot0 is the OEM audio card slot, and not a pci-e 1x slot? that urks me about Asus boards because I like my pci-e 1x RocketRaid controller.. grr.. and the pci-e 1x slot is always burried behind pci-e slot0, right where you can't reach it with a 2 slot video card.. anyways..

aside from that, still waiting for an all SATA board with no IDE ports.. iz want morez sata!

I'm not quite understanding the GSURF-365. It's a crappy budget mobo labeled with the ROG branding, a giant (ultimately useless) heatsink, and 2 RAM slots? Also, what the hell did Asus do to the board layout on the AM2 board? There are barely any damn traces on that PCB.

Edit: read Tony's post, but not buying it. No 7 channel onboard audio, no dual gigabit, no eSATA? Even if it is solely for overclocking, that is one barren board.

So, wait, it's a low-end NF630a based mobo, but it's branded with the Republic of Gamers logo? What the hell? The name even implies it'd be best suited for a basic web SURFING machine.

It's ATX--look at the mounting holes--it has the standard setup for a full ATX board. Anyways--they could have saved everyone a ton of money and cut the size of the heatsinks to about... half of what we see (I realize both SB and NB are under it--but do they really need everything inbetween?). They wasted four expansion slots for a huge heatsink... adding probably $30 on the ticket price.

Hey dinos....the reason why i dont like it is it caused problems with quads at certain fsb/voltage..........when you load prime 95 with the maximus formula it wouldnt load the cpu 100%, also the voltages fluctuate too much on the maximus.....im not sure its the EPU or not, but most of us thought it was.
