The Phenom x4 is a great cpu but at the same time its too bad they are having problems at higher freq. but there is something special about a native quad core. It really is.
The super pi time ain't so super. I could get lower time with my E2160...

Hell yes its a mini-ITX gaming rig!
Awesome! 3ghz on phase is groundbreaking!
Well I guess in terms of Phenom you could consider this quite the accomplishment. Like having a Special Olympics athlete compete in the regular Olympics and winning gold.
For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Wow, a very unstable 3GHz. I sure hope B3 chips will alleviate this clock speed scaling problem; K8 scales like a monster compared to K10, and that's sad since the Phenoms out now are retail products, not ES.
It's probably the platform. Whataya gonna do?
Hang in there.
I can't wait till it all lines up and the pissant intel sucka's suck some stuff to choke on.

its ES so its Unlocked so its easier =)
Ive been a reader for a long time and overclocking since the days of 300A and never felt an urge to post, but its been a while coming for Phenom, and regardless of stuation as it stands i look forward to getting round to one.
Hell i just got rid of my Opteron 170 in the process of getting rid of my 165 also, I was lucky enough to win a competion at [H] and i got 2 x Corsair XMS3200Pro XL (522), they have been my rock for my systems over years. I finally made the step to AM2(+)
For me its quite remarkable to see that AMD have all 3 parts on the market. People just got to understand that progress isnt going to end, and that the media like to write ....
Anyhow, macci may i ask what voltages are required for phenom OC ?
Is memspeed head room affected with Max OC ?
Paitently awaiting for chipsets to appear at moment, i have just got myself Asrock NF6G to tide me over (using 2.10 bios) Which appears to be phenom compatible for a price of £31 not expecting miracles but it will be interesting to see how it performs on a very low budget board with budget ram.
Also could someone confirm if there AMD have a unlocked-multi Phenom CPU for retail. if this was possibly an option for all Phenom CPU this would be a very persuasive option for the enthusiast. For those wishing to have an AMD system.
Regards
AL
I also used aircooling, a Zalman 9700
I'm from Vietnam!
Its only because of the L3 bug.
Here is a bit better benchmark (ran under Vista32bit without tweaking) -- single card 3DMark05!
I have a reference score with 3GHz Yorkfield using the same GFX clocks and its 300 points less (ran under WinXP32bit though)...
nice work! the cooling system is crazy.
he'll be back lol
