    New Coretemp 0.95.6 with QX9650

I'm testing it with my QX 9650

So far I got three issues:

    1) Why is the Tjunction on my chip being up now to 105C? Is that correct? I thought the TJunction was 100C.

    2) There is a difference of an extra 5-6C now on the cores. It is actually matching what the Sensor monitor shws if I use Everest. So what is correct, either 0.95.4 or 0.95.6?

    3) The VID is now shown, great, but it always stays the same no matter if I'mactually stressing the chip.

I can assume that by adding 5-6C extra it is adding 5C extra to my Tjunction (100+5=105C)

    That's my feedback...

Any other tester running with the same issues on your Yorkies.?

    1) Because TJunction on the new chips has increased by 5C.
    2) 0.95.6 is correct.
    3) Well VID should only change when EIST is enabled and CPU is idle.
Your assumption regarding the temperature is correct.

Mine is at 105 also. I also have around an 8 degree difference "reported" between the first two and last two cores even though my temps are sub zero and the coretemp values never chane even under stress. (yes I have an even mount) I sure wish the MB makers would enable reading of negative temps after all these years.

LLC helps a little bit but hard modding the board is definitely better.

Ok... I set up my VCORE on the BIOS to be 1.35V at 4Ghz.

The new coretemp shows it as 1.3375V, and it doesn't change even if I slash the CPU with Prime 95.

I'm sorry guys, but this version was given to me as a beta test from the author. I basically got a PM offering me and other xtreme members to test it.

It is a private version, and as such many of us are not able to share it with anyone until he declares it official. As it stands I will respect his decision on this.

BTW thanks for claryfing my questions

So I guess we have 5 more degress to play with the Tjuntion treshold.

Only thing is that now instead of having 63C while I'm stressing cores @4ghz I'm reaching 68-69C.

Well, at least this is the real reality proof I guess. Burn baby, burn!!!

Regarding subzero temps, the Intel DTS, for whatever reason, never worked with very cold temperatures. It cold-bugs at some point and always shows the same temp after a certain point.

I'm sorry guys, this an internal build and is work in progress. There's not much change from 0.95.4, except some minor bug fixes and added support for these new chips.

Wow, if I didn't find this thread, I would have no idea this is the live url. I dunno how you can fix it in google, but I'm guessing you'll have significantly less traffic until you do Is there any way you can have the old url redirect to the new one o a temporary basis?

I asked the person who used to host my site to somehow redirect users to the new domain:
    www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/
    www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp
So until the server goes down completely we will have redirection for users who don't know about the change. In addition in the next release the links in the About box will be updated.

Also, working on this new addition, at last This is just the layout I made. What do you think about it? I'd appriciate some input before I actually start coding this.

I think it looks great, I really like the option to display the highest temperature each core has seen in the system tray. This is great to see on the fly just how how each core has been, even if only for a few seconds, without having to manually sit there and man the temperature gauge for changes, nor go through the log file after your testing has been done. Keep up the great work, I look very forward to your next release. Your 0.95.4 has been a God send to us all.
