Memory overclocks way higher, which is fantastic.
Not really too much of a difference from the gt at 1280x1024 resolution.
There should be a crysis benchmark! Overall seems nice, but not sure if it's worth $100 to ugrade from a gt to this.

Interesting, it seem to do best at 1600x1200 and inconsistent at 1920 and 1280.
On average it will be a few frames better then GT at $50-$100 higher then the current GTs.
I would like to know why Fear wasn't benched at 1920?
World in Conflict and Fear shows the GTS having lower then average minimal frame rates compared to the GT (however, left out 1920 which is very important here). More minimal frame rates benchmarks are needed to confirm a trend if the GT or GTS offers the highest minimal frame rates.

yeah, and don't forget it wasn't clock for clock. the GTS is clocked higher out of the box then the GT.. so the GT might have the potential to equal it when OCd, for a lot less then the GTS will go for since everyone is price gouging GT's. the again, it's only 1 review.

(at least my GT was cheap, i jumped on ordered it the first day of release )

    Looking at:
-minimal frame rates using Fear and WiC
    -clock rate
-cost between the GT and GTS
    -power consumption (tailing the 2900)

I have to agree, the GT is looks like the best bet. We need more benchmarks to confirm the minimal frame rate though. Those results at that clock rate bothers me.

I have to ask...did they allocate GT dies to make GTS (at GTS prices)?

they must have rushed the 8800gt to combat AMD 3800 series, knowing they would only allocate a small batch to the market.

they are probably focusing on this card(gts) now for bigger batches. its hard to say thoough because the single slot gt is a good all around card and hopefully they are re-stocking.

on the otherhand the same thing could happen with the gts as is happening with the gt.... sell out in five minutes.

I don't quite "get" that screenshot.. Older version of CPU-Z that reads/lists the processor and stepping wrong? The 3D06 result doesnt show the CPU/GPU used?
    Oh blah?

If more reviews show similar results I don't see people flocking to buy this card at $50-$100 more IMO. I believe that some (if not all) looking for an 8800 will prefer the GT. But I'm speculating here anything is possible. What will be interesting to learn is how well the yields are from the waffer. This tells the real story of how many we will see available and how they will be priced

I don't think FEAR has resolutions that high? Not sure though.

    true.

more people will want the single slot design, plus it draws less power.

once more oc results come out i bet this will be the best (new) card for playing crysis

    Can u say rip off

and why didn't they include the benchmark, that will be the no1 benchmark for years to come..... CRYSIS. It probably doesn't make 1 fps difference at all judging by those benchies.

the 65nm tech is nice, but its just a big yawn till nv puts something with substance out next year. I dont see the point in spending the money on this or the GT for a 5-10% gain

Now the big question; HD3870 Crossfire, 8800GT or 8800GTS 512MB, including overclocked performance and price-performance-ratio?

To be honoust, I'm leaning towards the 8800GTS 512MB, because of the bigger cooler (better overclocking). Furthermore, because you're not dependant on the support for Crossfire in games.

But an ACS3 version that costs about $250-260 could make me go 8800GT.
