Only just saw RAMMIE's leaving thread, not good news, so I OC'ed the clovers a bit more. I left them running at just the BSEL mod speed 333x9-3GHz, kicked it up to 370x9=3.33GHz, another 2.64GHz for the team.

I upped my Qx6700 to 3.4, doesn't want to boot @ 3.6 and don't want to fight with the 680i right now.
I am getting a new 680i and will flash to P31, see what I can get for an OC on that.
Will hopefully have my 3220 up again, sometime by the end of the month.
That will add 4 cores, and if I can decent air cooler, will push for over 3Hz.

Moving this from PD-820 stock clocked to hopefully OCed e6600 and adding an e2140 this weekend. It's no quad, but it's my first C2D and I'm pretty sure that it'll do something...

I bumped the quad to 3.6 and added my work lappy (Pentium M 2ghz). That's almost 20ghz crunching. Yesterday I had my first 15K day since August.

Ouch! This hurts.....
We'll get them Don..It's a battle but we'll win this one.
getting rumors of some new 45nm parts that might be available to me in a week or so that should make a difference.
We've also been taking a huge hit on the HCC work units when run on any 8 core machine.
There is a problem with "page faults" and they are seeing it now from more people than just me reporting it.
I would suggest to anyone running HCC that you look VERY carefully at the timeframes your machine is doing the work units. VERY carefully!!!!!!
So far it seems( and keep in mind that I am not a software guy) that when more than one HCC WU is run at a time there are issues.
What I do know for fact is that mesh's clover was taking a 6000 point a day hit by running HCC and I have moved it back to FAAH.

Dave , this is ONLY on 8 core machines , right?
I think so..BUT a guy posted that his P4 single core got one point an hour.![]()
This is why I'm saying go and check on your WCG page in the results section on valid WU's on machines running HCC and see what your completion times are and how your doing on claimed vs awarded points.
The clover was taking WAY too long to finish these compared to other machines from the data I saw.
Now I'll agree, there are many machines that are faster per core than the clovers, most of the quads are, but lets be realistic, of the 823,000 machines on WCG I'd bet the clovers are up in the top 1% for speed but they were getting absolutely killed in HCC and that flys in the face of what I've seen over the past year doing FAAH WU.

Maybe it is just my newb'ness but I had a lot of HCC "pending" in the last few days...maybe 30% or more...so claimed = 50 or so points and I got nothing for them. Is this a normal thing??

For these HCCs, I went from 4 hours avg, @ 3.4Ghz, now its saying like 8 hours @ same speed on my QX6700........
Think if we drop the HCC and focus on other units, that would be an improvement?
Then again, not working on HCC doesn't accompolish our primary goal?!?!

Well fold3 and fold5 are both crunching HCC right now. Looks like it was progressing OK until I remote desktoped to them, now they are just sitting atm with the time remaining increasing nowWe'll see what happens. For some reason on fold5 it is running an HCC unit due on the 8th while there are four DDDT units due on the 7th it is ignoring right now
Who knows...

That's what, four or five days in a row?
The cancer project seems to be working fine here. Credit claimed and granted very close. That's on an E6700 / Vista Ultimate 32, Q6600 / Vista Ultimate 32 (switched to 64 bit today), QX6700 / XP Pro and a couple of P4's with XP Home.
