rbs what's your setting for 8x475?

I'm at 9x423 atm and would like to do 8x475

PLL 1.5v
FSB 1.2v
MCH 1.40v

But it's not blend stable on P5K Deluxe

Man, I don't know what to do. This sucker runs blend at 510Mhz FSB @ P5E3...It's sad

Running now at 423x9, like you. Can you test max. FSB for me? If you get 500Mhz FSB with your board (don't need to be 4000Mhz, just 500x6 ot 500x7) I'll buy a new mobo tomorrow

I got my new Q6600 from Frys BF deal. I havent had a chance to test it yet but I did notice the 1.20 VID . This is the lowest I have seen hopefully it clocks like a beast.

I just did a quick run for 3DMark06 and I needed about 1,52V for 4GHz (9x445) to do the full run

Speedfan reads the temps wrongly by exactly 15 degrees celsius, it's a known bug..

Watch out for FPO/Batch L738B042. This stepping sucks. I got one today for test.
Vid = 1.325v
3.6Ghz (450x8) Stable @ 1.53v
475x7 also stable.
Temps are low for being at 1.53v. Around 60c load on all 4 cores.

But I´m getting a new one tonight. Same FPO/Batch + packdate. Hopefully its better. IF not, I just switch it for another one tomorrow with different FPO/Batch

My crappy cpu is 1.53v @ 3.6ghz after vdroop :P
Now I´ve tested 2 from the same batch and both has 1.325vid.
Hopefully I get a better batch tomorrow.
Too bad my Xeon 3230 has fsbwall @ 445mhz...

So I got home to find me comptuer had rebooted itself.

Checked all the logs.. it ran P95 fine for about 4 hours then rebooted itself.

Temps never got above 64C on a core and never over 55C on the Tcase reading.

No errors in the P95 log or anywhere to be found... Not 100% sure.. I put it back to my 24/7 OC and I'll work on that at a later time when I can baby sit it.

If you download the Speedfan Beta 4.34 beta 34, the correct core temps are now correct. I have Vista 64 Ultimate and CoreTemp will not work on my Vista 64. That's why I use speedfan.

On a side note, my MSI mother overvolts the motherboard Vcore by about .02. If I set my Vcore to 1.3875 it will register 1.40-1.42v on Speedfan nd CPU-Z. The voltage on my ram is undervolted if my Vcore is set to 1.30v or less. At above 1.375v my ram overvolts my 1/10th of a volt. I guess it's just a quirk.

lol I guess the one I have, I mean had turned out to be a lemon like yours also. Anything past 3.4ghz is asking for trouble... sigh I tried 3.5ghz @ 1.45 and still not stable.. O well got a new one

The blood iron is not known to be a good quad overclocker. Probably won't be able to get 3.6 or above with that board. I have run 3.6ghz with only a reboot being the sign of instability as well(on the infinity P965). I suspect it's due to inadequate power delivery to the processor. Like the Vdroop drops just enough at some point to cause the reboot. Probably be able to get a higher clock on lower volts with a board that has better power delivery to the processor. Most of em are out of my reach $ wise. I know this chip can do better but i can't afford to get a new board right now.

I'm planning on a P5K-E once I get paid. I was trying to see just how much I could squeeze out of this board. If it's like you say, that is certainly unfortunate... The funny thing is in general the vDroop hasn't been horrible compared to some of what I've seen. 48mV was the norm.

As far as I understand it:

You have a CPU VID. Mine is 1.2875 as read in CoreTemp.

You can add voltage over the VID with the "CPU VID Special Add:" in the Voltage Settings section of the Blood Iron BIOS. Mine actually does work out in Windows to be almost exactly VID+Setting at idle +/-25mV.

I know. I have done the same. It can be very misleading. Let it run for 8 hours. I'm hoping you make it that far but i'm betting you will either get a reboot or 'execution halted' at some point. Probably 2-4 hours into it.

Highest i have run prime stable on this board was 3.51ghz and that required 1.48v in BIOS. This made temps get a little out of control for 24/7 usage. I'm not comfortable with my chip running close to or over 70C. So with 1.4v in BIOS i'm running at 3.4ghz. The later batches appear to be pretty good tho so i could be wrong.
