@Shintai.......why are you here? I seem to notice that about half of you're post count is in AMD threads bashing AMD with extreme hatred and prejudice!
As for Dave_Graham are you FLAMING another member?
Why don't you do us all a favor and take you're Bull Sh**t elsewhere as we are sick of hearing you're Dysfunctional crap!
Now have a Coke & a Smile and......... STFU!.....................Thank you![]()

Perhaps you should relax abit. Since you find people not agreeing with AMD marketing and hypes for bashers, haters and prejuiced people. Who is it that was right and wrong again? Calling people that is criticizing hypes and wet unreal fanboys dreams wont make AMD release a better product.
No im not flaming him. Its clear he wasnt telling the truth if you check his past prelaunch posts.
There is also a way to ignore my posts if you feel they hit you so much. Perhaps you should use that instead.
And if you want to talk about flaming. Perhaps you should think twice on what you write and post.
Oh, and I do buy AMD products. I "support" AMD with more money than you ever did or will in your lifetime. I could just select Intel if I wanted to instead. So go somewhere else with your delusional rampart claims.

Listen brother its a suggestion to you to stop this thread crapping and apparently the subtle gentle approach does not work with you.
I am not the only one that feels this way that should be apparent to you by now and I believe Dave has also brought this to you're attention on a official note as well.
You're a Intel guy and you know you're stuff that I cannot take away from you but you like to stir the Sh**t Plain and Simple you know it and I know it!
The Message that is always sent out by you is always negative in short you take enjoyment in being a AMD KillJoy thread crapper!
Please man we don't want to hear it anymore I'm asking you nicely![]()

Holy crap... I entered the thread to read up on the reviews and user experiences but instead I got caught in an adult kindergarten thread..

Well, where ever he gets his information, his credibility is now in question. This usually comes from speaking with the heart instead of the head.
sure looks like it. I guess people are getting tired of reading a thread about AMD that just ends up being an argument about how much better Intel is.
I dont get how many times intel boys have to come and say thats rubbish attempt we are better when thats not the main discussion in the thread.
I got warned couple of times for being "rude" to such thread-crappers and at one point i just told the mod to ban me so i could not read such stupid crap for a while. The ban came and went and the thread-crappers are still at it with mods taking the "everyone has the right to opinion" route. I guess mass-thread flaming is the only way things will go if thread-crapping doesn't stop.
This is an absolute shame because i remember before likes of Shintel joined this forum this was an very un-biased community that everyone respected now we are arguing like bunch of kids over nothing all the time.
I consider my self an active member and i have 691 posts and thats since Dec 2005. Shintel has 3,037 and he joined this forum in Aug 2006. I think mods need to check what most of his posts are.

I don't think Dave was lying, BS or FUD at all, I had some chats with him in PMs back then, he was conveying what he was being told from behind. If anyone can be called on it, it would be his contact who was a rep at AMD.
than he was just plain "dump" (or better he was waering his green glases)?
sorrry but as a guy who is experienced in this industry he should be able to tell if something is realisitc or just a plain overestimation.
Also he could have been a lot more conserbative with his posts/articles.
This is not unreasonable .... which is why one should question the validity of his sources. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me... perhaps dave will exercise a little more caution when getting his info from AMD.
Unfortunately, it was Dave's name attached to the information -- AMD may have fed him bad info, but he relayed it under his own...

I love how you teach morale. Yet you do the name calling.
Also there are dozens and dozens of people posting more than me. What do you make them too then?
Its funny how you are the bad guy, simply when you are stating the obvious that others dont want to face. You just cant hide from reality. Nomatter how much you try. It always catch up.
Perhaps if people actually woke up from the hypes and dreams. We wouldnt be in this situation now.
Everytime I hear this, its always to blame someone else on their own failed exaggerated expections.
Blame yourself, not me. You dont want an unbiased forum. you want one where nothing is questioned and everything is accepted regardless of actual truth.

Well, let's lighten this up.... remember this:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...-core_duel.pdf
Shrug, lots of people were pointing out that the story he was peddeling about B1 vs. BA steppings was on its face crazy; that AMD had sent out samples of a bugged performance-crippled stepping directly to reviewers for review only 3 days before lanuch, then compounded the error by not saying or doing anything to correct it?? Sorry, AMD isn't that stupid. His response was to call us "tools". Someone was a tool alright.

If his "contact" was feeding him this bad info, why just to him and not to everyone? Why not come out with a press release and say sorry we couldn't get release steppings out to those reviewers in time, the real parts are on their way now? It was all transparent FUD and BS that made no sense from the beginning. Of course, pointing this out got us labeled "thread crappers". I guess thread crapping consists of pointing out FUD and BS for what it is. AMD has been pumping out a hell of a lot of it in the last year, they need to get their house in order and soon.
ok i get you are trying to prove that Intel>AMD, but how manying times in how many
ing threads do you have to repeat the same
ing things?
Move theon m8 if we didnt care what you said the first time we aint going to care what you said the 3,045 time ok?
On post count others might be posting more constructive posts then you, quality>quantity.

not a "real" review, but very interesting. two users compare Phenom vs Yorkfield at the same frequency.

Confirmation Phenom 9700 (2.4GHz) in Q1'08 and Phenom 9600 Black Edition this year.

btw:
At the press event, the speaker showed slides comparing the power usage of the phenom 9500 versus Athlon 64 X2. He emphasised that phenom 9500 under CnQ 2.0 used only 205W.
The speaker also demonstrated AMD Overdrive and show official benchmarks that Phenom is 2x faster than Athlon64 X2.

Does an unlocked multiplier really matter when the chip in question can barely get 3.0GHz stable at the best of times?
"To exist in this vast universe for a speck of time is the great gift of life. Our tiny sliver of time is our gift of life. It is our only life. The universe will go on, indifferent to our brief existence, but while we are here we touch not just part of that vastness, but also the lives around us. Life is the gift each of us has been given. Each life is our own and no one else's. It is precious beyond all counting. It is the greatest value we have. Cherish it for what it truly is."
Yes it matters a lot since the NB could be run at below 2.2Ghz clocks and thus people will avoid the "wall" that comes while OCing regular Phenoms(NB seems to have some kind of a freq. wall around 2.25GHz for most parts).
So OCing using multi instead of HTT will give better results.
