    NF7 Vdd mod

    Right, quick question.

Got all the stuff i need to Vdd mod my V2 NF7, but before i do, can you all tell me thus?

What kind of increase did you lot get from doing it? My fsb hits a stability wall at 223fsb with CPU interface enabled, and 230fsb with it dissabled, but can run upto 245fsb, but unstable (dies when multi tasking) so i am aiming at 1.9v Vdd atm (until i finish making my NB waterblock)

Say say i go from 1.7 (in bios) to 1.9, can anyone tell me what sort of gain in max fsb i could get (going by what yourself's and others have got)

    Cheers peeps

Wish I could say.........I did the VDIMM, VDD mod, and the L12 all at the same time.

No way to pinpoint exactly what the VDD gave me.

    Nice sig

I didnt gain much from it, may be 2-3 fsb stability wise

imo most important mod = vdimm and 3.3v on the PSU...

My newer rev2 will do 235+ at 1.6v VDD.

But on most of my other NF7's it was about the same as Holst's results.

    Mines a rev 2.

It did 240 with interface disabled at 1.7, but to get interface enabled I needed the mod.

How do u do the mods? Anyone have a site I can visit?

I've tried everything and I can't get past 2.2ghz(233mhzFSB) with a 1700+ or my 2500+. Thinking its a voltage issue. Wouldn't mind doing the modds to rule out the voltage issue.

is the vdimm really worth it? My khx 3500 ch5 seems to hate on my when I set vdimm to 2.9v.... 2.8 is my sweet spot.

What do you make of it?

Also, the vdd didn't give me anything. Running vdd at 1.95 right now with NB water block.

    what's rd?

I only have two places that have these sorts of things. RadioShack (argh, hate them with a passion) and service electronics (too far to drive for one damn pot)

Also, nobody answered my question about voltage and CH5, and why my kingston khx hates voltage.

In my experience winbond chips do better with voltage.

It may be that your 3.3v line is dropping at higher voltages...

Or it might just be that your ram isnt the limitation, so voltage isnt helping.

My BH5 loves voltage... im sticking too 3v for safetys sakes till I get other problems with my rig sorted.. then ill force feed it 3.5v and get some higher 3dmark runs.

I can actually get higher fsb oc's on lower mem voltage, which is kinda creepy.

I've got a truepower 480, so pushing the amps shouldn't be a problem. I noticed the same thing with my A7N8X-Deluxe a while back, though it didn't lie so much about vdimm.

is it true you can't check the voltages in bios, only with multimeter?

    Forgot about this thread.

Well, did the mod over a month ago, 240fsb CPU interface enabled, but my PSU died a short while later, new one coming soon, followed by a vdimm mod :p

tryed with 3 NF7 V2.0 (two are -S) and all 3 can go highter with 1.5v vdd settings instead of 1.7v or highter (up to 2.2v)
NB is cooled with watercooling and 3° water....
so from my experience vdd mod is useless...

U bet, 1,55 V gives me more fsb too... weird, any explanations for this?
Dunno if this is good, anyway, cause my nf7 maxed at 244 MHz, and since increasing Vdd doesn´t give more fsb, dunno what to do...
Have my 3,3V rail at 3,6V, memory isn´t on limits yet (don´t do 245 with ratio 4:3) cpu is also on the go... any tip?
I noticed that u guys get more fsb with CPU interface disabled, I don´t gain a single MHz with it disabled... strange again or not?
    Any tips?
    Thanks. GL HF

i think that the greatest limit of the NF7 is the SB... i can bench at 270 with 8-8.5x multi, also pcmark without problem till HDD test, when HDD test start the system reboot..
also seems that agp/pci locks are lost at 270mhz, because 3dmark shows great image artifact...
    any mods for SB vdd??
