    no boot after idle for a few hours" ?
    No not heard of that one

    Edit:
    i have to give my 4gb 2.125 to be stable, with droop its about 2.1, and 2.085 under heavy load
    Didn't find that there was actaully an increase on load(running large ffts inm prime) My crucial had been att 2.2v load rose to 2.24v idle was MUltimeter Measurments I'm running at 1000 at 2.175v as a consequence which is fine.(12hr stable)

    An effort to make the board better !

    I sent an email to Abit EU again yesterday about the issues i've seen around all the usual forums. There seems to be a FSB wall for dualcores on this mobo @ around 491 fsb. Supershanks had it with a q6600 G0 and i have the same problem with a very good E6600 that did 515 fsb on a P5B of a friend.

    Also i have problems getting the memory stable @ DDR1100 and above which should be possible with my OCZ Ti Alpa VX (PC8000@4-4-4-15 stock). I mentioned the problems people where having with quad core overclocking. All problems will be forwarded to Taiwan and he assured me they are very happy with good feedback and it will be used. Most of these problems can be solved by a "killer" bios !

    I think there are memory controller issues in bios 11 and 12B02. He will send me a new beta and/or final when they finish it. Also he is going to send me mounting clips whenever they get them from Taiwan.........

    Stay tuned for more news !

    I wondered that b4 i got my board when i saw the 1st bios scree. Itt's the onlly extra bios option to the p35- pro. Sadly it doed rock all , just giving you extra vcore addition. eg

    cpu core voltage ....= 1.400v (max = 1.65v)

    Finally.

    I am ready to put this rig together. Been to busy lately, have time this week so let the fun begin .

    Thanks Ace for the flash BIOS guide, was a piece of cake to follow.... prof is in the testing as they say so will flash in a minute.

    Just a quick question: Memetest, witch option should I select for a good test. I want to test each stick separately then put in all 4.

    RIG:
    M/B = Abit IX38 QuadGT (BIOS 12B02)
    CPU = E2140 @ 3.2Ghz (400x8) 1.325v - Thermalright Ultra 120
    RAM = 4GB Crucial ballistix 6400 4-4-4-12 with 2.1v
    G/C = 2x Club3D HD3870 xFire
    PSU = Enermax Liberty 620 Watt
    Storage = 2x Raptor's 150MB RAID 0 + 250GB Barracuda
    Optical = 2x DVD Writer/combo(SATA)
    Case = SilverStone TJ07
    Monitor = Samsung SyncMaster 226BW

    XP and drivers are installed (Vista64 will be at a later date).

    Now I need to find a good O/C guide.... only ever O/C AMD before. I want to do some reading before I get into it.

    you know, i am just not convinced this is the board to buy...i really want to upgrade to DDR3 and i was disappointed that abit will not release a DDR3 board until the X48 comes out.

    Bingo13 told me this board is fast but it cannot be pushed hard before breaking down.

    now, i am in a dilemma...i want to buy a new DDR3 board along with buying a QX9650, so i am thinking about giving gigabyte X38T board (DDR3) a try...i know, heresy!

    My first results .

    My pc booted with CPU volts at 1.21 (or there abouts) so when I bumped my CPU higer I couldn't boot. From reading many E2140 threads 1.3v's is fine, so I upped it to that.

    When I tryed superPI I couldn't get it to run on the other core so i uped the vcore again to 1.3150 and that didnt work.

    So I did a search on the error and found that it was due to trying to run the superPI twice from the same folder .... oops.

    Copyed the folder and deleted all the data in superPI folder except superPI.exe and they both ran fine.

    Pressed ok on one of the tests before I realised it gets rid of the time/section.

    I did SuperPI just as a starting block and a quick test. I will see if 3.2GHz works at that voltage and the SuperPI it.

    Hopefully it will pass and then I will move onto Othros (spelling?) and run that for 12hours or so (fingers crossed).

    Then I will work on lowering the vCore.

    Remember, its just a starting block and I was surfing while I was testing.

    Question: Is one core faster tan the other; shouldn't they be almost equal in time?

    I though that there was now going to be a DDR3 IX38 QuadGT as well?
    At any rate I can't see any advantage to me switching to the IX38 QuadGT either atm as I don't run Crossfire.

    To bad mine dont do that. They are week 33 2007 with new look heatspreaders. When i try to boot @ DDR600 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 2.35 Windows XP cannot boot completely. My OCZ Ti Alpha Cannot do more than DDR1050 @ 4-4-4-15/5-5-5-15 with this IX38 Quad. I think it is a bios issue (hope).

    I flashed back to Bios 11. No results. My settings are:

    vdimm 2.3750
    vcore 1.3875 with 0.5000 offset max 1.4375
    vmch 1.60v
    vchio 1.60v

    DDR1000 @ 4.4.4.15 anything above DDR1000 will bsod even when the processor is @ stock speed !?!?!@@##

    run test 5 mainly, for at least 4 hours. also test 3,7 are good to run in memtest86+

    there is a new version of memtest 3.6 out, which runs in windows. Using both is a good idea.

    Anybody using high binned DGKX on this board ?
    My Kingston PC2 9600 wont do DDR600, no matter what vdimm/vmch
    But they can do DDR550 @ 5-4-4-15 @ 2.45 or DDR500 @ 4-4-4-15 or DDR400 @ 3-3-3-6

    The Kingtons are DDR600 @ 5-5-5-15 @ 2.35v

    Funny, I was gonna recommend 5, 6 & 8
    Anyways, I'd just let it run through 1 complete pass and then move on to prime blend... cause memtest won't tell you whether your system is stable, but prime will.
