I can't go over 333X9 unless i get new memory , I tried changing dividers but the mem frequency (DDR2 667) doesn't go lower then stock, and I don't have overclocking memory, anyone know how I can get more divider options?? Bios update ?? maybe? if anyone can help that would be great, I'd rather not buy new memory..

I am going to pick one of these up for my Bro, whats a good motherboard for OC'in the E21s. Around a $120 price range, and a good set of memory.

I can't get 3GHZ Dual Prime stable, one gives me "FATAL ERROR", the other one runs.. Is that voltage related? the memory is only at 334 (668), I got DDR667 memory, I doubt its the memory at all. LMK what you guys think!

Maybe one of the core is bad. Same case with mine too. When priming the first core will always fail first. Raising Vcore is one of the options but my E2140 is not reacting well with voltage. At 3.0Ghz even 1.45V causes reboot when priming. Yamcha, I think you RAM can go till 400mhz. Try raising the voltage to 2.0V and loosen the timings too 6-6-6-20. My previous PC5300 can do 400mhz at 1.9V 5-5-5-15.

thx i'll give it a shot, I upped volt and was able to get 333X9 Dual prime stable for 12hrs , I'm gonna try getting out more.

I just got my E2140 this morning along with the IX28 QuadGT and Crucial Balistix 6400DDR2.

I think my CPU is an M0 stepping, is this good?

Well my M0 can't even do 3.0Ghz overclock with stock voltage so all the best of luck to you.

    I'm still working on it, i should catch 3450MHz w/ 1.55v
Also please note that I was on air cooling, i see on your sig that you are using a custom water cooling

I was limited by the temp, reaching 66c, otherwise i could raise some more voltage and get maybe 3500

In the end i think it's just luck, there are both m0 and l2 cpus scaling very well, but m0 is a bit cooler and sucks some watt less

    cheers

i am currently on 2.8 on my 2140 @ 1.325.however going past this point (for example 3 ghz) requires serious Vcore boost.

How high do u guys go on air with Vcore for normal use , not only benching
Now i am become death , the destroyer of worlds.

AW I'm so disappointed in my processor right now, I can only do 3.0GHZ Dual Prime stable, but when I go around 3.2GHZ it just restarts, it goes into windows I open up prime run it for a minute or two then it restarts, How much more volt does it need!! the volt was at 3.93V , I'm guessing 1.4V would do it, which sucks because thats probably the max I can go unless I use watercooling. Anyway I was wondering do any of you guys up volt for chipset? or is it not needed at 360fsb? Anyway I'm gonna try and have it at 3.2GHZ with 1.4V, I know temperature is not a problem because at load it doesn't touch 65C according to Coretemp.. with my current settings 100% load is 60C

Finally got around to playing with my e2160 a bit. Seems pretty happy right here for now (333 x 9 - 3000mhz) but it needed a bump in voltage to get there. I'm at 1.45 in the bios, which is giving me 1.43 idle and 1.44 load (p5b dlx w/ vdroop mod)

I'm using a cheap Cooler Master Hyper TX2, because it was free... and I'm seeing load temps around 60-62 (with small fft's, in a 80*F room)

I'm sure it can do a little more, I just haven't tweaked it any more yet. I am also waiting for some better memory (I just RMA's my Crucial Ballistix 8500's cause they died on me)

    Current System Specs:

    E5300-R0 @ 4013 Mhz (321x12.5) w/ Scythe Mugen II Cooler
    ASUS p5b Deluxe
    4 x 1gb Corsair DDR2-800 4-4-4-12
    BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC2 Edition @ 742/1728/999 w/ Accelero S1
Sony AW-G170A (Reflashed to Optiarc 7170A)
    Thermaltake V3 Case
    Enermax Liberty 500w PSU
    2xWD160ABYS, WD2502ABYS, WD3200YS and ST3400620A

New toy, Q6600 on the way.

    My first results .

My pc booted with CPU volts at 1.21 (or there abouts) so when I bumped my CPU higer I couldn't boot. From reading many E2140 threads 1.3v's is fine, so I upped it to that.

When I tryed superPI I couldn't get it to run on the other core so i uped the vcore again to 1.3150 and that didnt work.

So I did a search on the error and found that it was due to trying to run the superPI twice from the same folder .... oops.

Copyed the folder and deleted all the data in superPI folder except superPI.exe and they both ran fine.

Pressed ok on one of the tests before I realised it gets rid of the time/section.

I did SuperPI just as a starting block and a quick test. I will see if 3.2GHz works at that voltage and the SuperPI it.

Hopefully it will pass and then I will move onto Othros (spelling?) and run that for 12hours or so (fingers crossed).

Then I will work on lowering the vCore.

Remember, its just a starting block and I was surfing while I was testing.

Question: Is one core faster tan the other; shouldn't they be almost equal in time?

I have some problems and here is my setup:
    E2140 M0
    Gigabyte P35-S3L
    2 x 1GB Hynix FP-Y5

Ok, all my voltages are reported differently between the BIOS and Windows. For example if I set Vdimm +0.5, Everest says it's only 2.1V

Rather confusing but which one is true? What's the most effective way to tell what is the actual voltage?

I'm running 425FSB 1:1 and I have to max (+0.3V) my MCH and FSB Overvolt in BIOS. Am I having a dud board? Everyone is hitting like 500+ FSB and doesn't even have to pump so much voltage.
