Gained 50mhz core and shader in games I play.
Not shabby for a fast mod.
Its however clear it needs a hard modd, the card got potential.

To anyone who thinks their clocks are rock-stable. Try running the crysis demo gpu benchmark a couple of times. I have a slight feeling that some of you will be a bit dissapointing...with the red textures appearing all across the screen suddenly :P. Even tho' my shader clock was ati-tool hairball stable, it was nowhere near stable with the crysis gpu benchmark. My whole screen froze and was filled with small red squares at some point in the loop.
So by all means, if you want to REALLY check your clocks, go grab the crysis demo and run the gpu benchmark.
I can actually run Crysys GPU test at higher speeds than atitool stable so as usual, every system is different.

I shoot a few nukes off for good measure as well. 713/1728/999(run at 948) stable
3dmark06 able to run at 750core. Pushed me over 12k which was nice.
However, once you start add some draw, and I test games, LOTRO using dx10 i get stable at 690core, which is a 50mhz increase since the bios mod.
It runs cool under water.
A hard modd is needed since the card got some headroom built in.
But stable 2 days testing 690core.
Gonna try 695 next to see if that works.

I am going to find my floppy and do the mod as well.![]()

Indeed crysis is the main tester to the GPU. Surely I'm enjoying my 720/1782/950 stable easy, would right the memory at 999 but worried about that memory issue going around, which really it sounds like a heat problem more than anything. But playing it safe, rather then sorry.
Gotta give that bios thing ago again, just gotta give it a whirl with a little more time this time to see why I can't backup my existing bios. I'd love more speed![]()

Is there any way to create a nvflash capable boot disc? I did one with Nero and added the nvflash file but couldnt find it when I rebooted....
PS Never mind I will just drop everything on a C:// folder and go there using command prompt. :-)

Laugh all you want, but the floppy still comes in handy every now and then.
Struggling to get a proper CD made, or getting USB Flash Drive to work is a PITA!
Hey folks, thanks for answering my mail! I am almost ready to go through the procedure. When I format and create a ms-dos bootable floppy, it adds like 8 files to the floppy disk. I suppose these need to say in there while I do the flashing?
The nero boot cd works and I get to command prompt so all I need to do is go to the C folder where I put the files and flash right?

Early flash report by me: The flash succeeded!!! Thank goodness, the thing did not burn up or blast me in the face with fire. The gpu temperature has raised by 3 celcius. This is an indication of success!
I've just had thought to add my 3 cents.
So I've modified bios with NiBiTor v3.5a. All volts set to 1.1 exempt for 3d.
I can now confirm that this mod is working 100%.
Just before the mod I've again tested max stable OC just to confirm my previous results. The ambient temperature before and after the test remained the same.
Standard bios - gpu/shaders - 729/1674 anything above that would give me errors in ATITool
Oc bios - gpu/shaders - 738/1728 anything above that gives me errors in ATITool
Just wanted to say thanks for the author of this !
