27105 on Intel P4EE. #4 in ORB!!!

Yesterday I posted my 26016 with R9800@513/390. But my vidcard was really holding me back. So today I went to our friendly company “Euro-Plus”, major videocard distributor in Ukraine. They give me 8 R9800Pro to search the best one from ‘em. Well, cards (5 retail Sapphire, 1 OEM and 2 Gigabyte) are really different. I found one that was stable at 485/385 (Sapphire Retail, if it matter for ya) and gab it for benching.

Well, with 5.21V on +5V rail (TNX TrueControl!) and watercooling (actually chilling - +5C ambient) it was 525/396.

With 2.05V Vgpu it was 560/396. Ok, here we go: 27105 and #4 in ORB.

I bet thered be another ~200 points if you went to a P4C800.

It seems the P4 is a hair stronger @ Lobby but just will not outdo the A64's in Car Chase, although a Canterwood could close the gap.

Nice benching ALT-F13. [cool]

So it seems P4EE @ 4100 ~= A64 @ 2700.

I wish I could see a 1:1 A64 @ 2700MHz vs a 1:1 P4EE @ 4200 (with 16 mult).

That would give a good indication of what is stronger. Unfortunately, unless the P4EE is unlocked, I dont think well be seeing many with 300+ FSB 1:1 anytime soon, and I also know OPP is running async.

There is speed left, but can the $$ and mobos catch up?

Very nice ALT-F13,

Excellent result but on a price/performance ratio a little too expensive to seriously consider buying....

Soon athlonFX's will come down in price and that when i will update my system components.

It is unlocked because its an ES. He could still go higher on the FSB if he could get his RAM faster, its only at 235. There's certainly more left in that rig.

hey alt-F13 can you do me a favour and check how the higher 5v rail changes the voltages on the radeon please? like how much higher does the vref vddr and vgpu get from ahigher 5v rail?

im currently running my 9500np of a extra psu because i dont know if the 5.7v on my system psu is too high...

Great score, ALT-F13 ...It's nice to see a P4 closing in on the top 3 places that are AMD owned.

All the 8 cards, not counting Geil GT2

saaya
We used Antec True Control 550w PSU and 5v rail was at 5.2v

Hallowed
i875 mobos are a bit slower then P4P800 because of this hyperpath stuff. We tried 1:1 modes a lot of times on different setups but 300 fsb still rules the place no matter what mem is. RAW POWER.

mkleingeld
Nothing to do about that. Its all this rig can do without a prommy and a secon phaseshifter head on a vid card.

All im doing is shifting energy to get lower temps to remove the cpu energy.
[24460] on Radeon9500NP. World #2 in Radeon9500 challenge.

La1kr0diZ the P4C800 is faster than the P4P800 because the 865 board is lacking PAT.

Excellent effort!
But I think that it has much more to give

i875 mobos are a bit slower then P4P800 because of this hyperpath stuff. We tried 1:1 modes a lot of times on different setups but 300 fsb still rules the place no matter what mem is. RAW POWER.
P4P800 CAN'T use PAT or HyperPath or whatever its called in 5:4 or 3:2 mode. Its only good for 1:1 mode
And I can tell you that properly set up P4C800 will beat P4P800 easily in 5:4 or 3:2 mode. In fact at 300FSB P4P800 in 5:4 mode is about as fast as P4C800 in 3:2 mode (this was the case with P4C800 1002 BIOS and P4P800 1007-1009BIOS atleast). So if you run P4C800 at 300FSB in 5:4 mode it will easily beat P4P.

Also how did you figure out 1:1 can't beat 300FSB?
Here are some lobby hi high scores I've got with different combos:
P4P800 at 327x12 5:4 = 151
P4C800 at 328x12 3:2 = 150
P4C800 at 313x13 5:4 = 154
P4C800 at 253x16 1:1 = 158.7
(P4P800 at 253x16 1:1 would give identical result here since its using full PAT in 1:1 mode)

So bootin up at 200FSB 1:1 mode (and then upping it to max speed from windows) at 16 or 17x multi and TUrbo ON + max timings should give you a clear improvement there

Did you try DX8.1 and CAT 3.2 combo yet? Should give nice improvement on lobbys atleast.

Macci, there is no 17x multi, 16 is the max . And max i can get from HyperX is 245-247 MHz 2-5-2-2.

We haven't tried DX8.1+Cat 3.2 - just no time for more benching... Have to give CPU back to Intel today. They promised to return it in couple of weeks though...
