Yea thats the info i found googling like crazy that mems run ok at 800mhz but anything above that is nearly impossible.
I guess then ill have to go for 800 3-3-3.

I just ordered an additional 2GB as well, I hope I won't have any problems. I'm currently running at 400x8 (1:1) with pretty loose timings.

Adding 2 more sticks straight ruined my OC - I tried EVERYTHING and ended up having to drop my OC by 300MHz. Just going x64 Vista alone I lost 100MHz of stability.

Eastcoasthandle so they fixed the 4:5 problem?
Can you run now at 400FSB : 1000RAM???
That's really good news man.. I'll get some 2 x 2Gb G.SKILL kit tomorrow then..
Did a file comparison and it seems there is no change from the previous Beta.

Right now I'm running my pc at 425 * 8 @ 1.85v vMch
Been like that for a while, I wonder if that's enough to run at least at 400 * 8...
Definitely P5W is getting behind because of silly FSB limitations...
Oh well, it's a fairly old chipset.
Gonna have to get a P5K-SE or something if i want to run my ram at 500mhz+ without spending money on mobo.
Thanks for answering though man![]()

My Heatware
On week ago my machine start BSODs. Yesterday, a last BSOD cause my Windows installation to not boot anymore. After running chkdsk from another Win, 8 GB of corrupted data was found. So, I formated everything and start a new fresh Windows installation.
Now, I come back and Windows did not boot again. Suspecting from a hardware failure, I disconnect everything and began testing each hardware peace, one at time. Quickly I discovery a memory problem: from my 4 memory sticks, only one is working right now. If I install any of other 3 sticks, in any combination possible, the machine even boot.
I didn't have another machine to test theses memory sticks right now. But I'm not believing the memory could be the problem. The memory was running just 1:1 and with 2.1v, i.e., not overclocking, not overvoltaging, nothing which could damage theses sticks.
What could be happening?
I forgot to mention one more thing, an important one: the memory is actually configured as AUTO in the BIOS (also, everything else is now configured as AUTO). When posting, the screen show the memory as PC2-5300. But CPU-Z is telling me the memory is running at 400FSB (PC2-6400)!
Completely crazy, isn't?
I just put in the additional 2GB I had ordered and I couldn't get it to boot into Windows at 1:1.
I raised the memory voltage to 2.1v (not sure if I should push it further) and mch to 1.65 which is the max available setting with my current Bios.
Had to set it to 4:3 to boot. Any suggestions?

It will be a sad day if its true that Window 7 (or whatever they decide to call it) is release showing that 4 Gigs of ram is not required...per rumor.
However, from what I heard you have to increase the voltage on the ram and increase Mch. However, that depends on what your ram is rated for. I am not sure if 1.65V MCH is enough but maybe someone with a similar setup will show you how.
