your 8800GT may need more power

If anyone is getting this in System event log (I get this in XP):
    Source: nv
    Unknown error on CMDre 00000001 00000080 00000000 00000005 00000006

Try adding .1v to pci-e in bios. Not all mb's allow this. If you have a Gigabyte board, you will need to hit CTRL+F1 in the bios screen and then go to the "advanced tweaker" (or whatever) page.
I'm assuming that you currently have pci-e at stock in bios. Not sure what the long term consequences of this will be (if any), and I'd really hesitate to go more than +.1v.

I can't say it will work for you, and I'm definately not responsible if something breaks, but good luck and maybe this will help someone.

Background: Someone else said this error was due to the card being power-starved, and after getting a checkerboard pattern and then crash in the crysis demo, I decided to give it a shot. Afterwards I played Crysis for at least 30 mins, and tried several other games last night, including at least an hour of TF2, with no issues, and no more errors in event log.

If this helps someone pls post here so I know it's not a wasted effort.

    Thanks!

It's not what we can call long term but I'm running PCI-E +0.1V for almost 3 months now without problem.

In my case it is because I need it for my CPU OC to be stable when I reach 400 FSB. I was told this option also control southbridge voltage, that's why it helps for stability.

Anyway now I have GT and it seems it may have avoid me some problem ...
