    Just killed my third stick of Corsair Dominator 8500 on my Bad Axe 2 board. As with the first two, it is the stick I had in my third memory slot. Memory voltages were at 2.2V, and was running 667 Divider at 333 FSB. All other motherboard voltages were at stock voltage. Does this board just not like running four sticks of ram?

    ditto
    the board defnetly kills ram when 4 slots are occupied
    always the 3rd slot, cant wait till i get rid of this board

    the motherboard is fine with 2 sticks, 4 sticks = death a couple of months
    down the line.

    I was able to overclock my E6600 to 3500 MHZ on my Vista64 machine. Will I see much improvement in speed using a Q6600 chip on this board? It sounds like I cannot overclock with the Q6600 chip, and I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle to change chips after I just spent some time overclocking the E6600. I run a ton of applications all at once including VMWare on this machine. I just bought this computer for an HTPC and I was thinking about swapping chips with my BadAxe.

    If I do swap chips, should I reset my bios for the cpu, or should I let the board automatically detect the new cpu and apply the appropriate settings?

    I have been running four sticks of Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 at 4-4-4-12 2.2v since midsummer with no issues. Did an all-day LAN party using the UT3 demo and several other titles last weekend with no hiccups. My board is a rev. 505.

    Finally after months of saving, I finally got all my parts, and got my bad axe 2 system together last night. I had the board for over 2 months now, waiting on other parts. Just a few questions, i put an AC freezer 7 pro on, and set the fans to auto in the bios, when i get check speed fan it says the fan is on 900 rpms. Seeems a little low to me, but the cpu is cool. Both cores read 28-30 c at idle. That sound pretty normal? I noticed sometimes my bios screen freezes up and i have to ctrl alt del to get it unstuck, but i heard it was normal with a usb keyboard, correct? Im using Team Xtreem ram 2 gig, ddr2 800, i set timings in bios 4-4-4-10 as it said on the ram pack, and i set voltage on ram to 2.0. I ran dual prime it pasted, is that voltage ok to run at? I put ram in black slots, as some said #3 slot burns up ram, didnt wanna take a chance. Over all Im pretty happy with it, went together easy. Hell of alot faster then my old AMD, I was blown away at how fast windows opens stuff. Oh I noticed a weird thing Core Temp seems to crash the system, everytime i try and run it, i get a bsod, speed fan works fine tho. Any1 else with this problem? Well guess i just wanted to ask those few things. My system specs are BX2, C2D E6600, 2gig Team Xtreem, Enermax Infiniti 720, Evga 7950 GT, Sound Blaster Xtreme gamer, two 74 gig raptors in raid 0, Sony dvd-rw, Antec 900, Samsung syncmaster 206bw, Razer Tarantula, Razer Deathadder. I been saving and building this piece by piece since June. Specs are a little old now I know.

    I just installed the latest bios (2802) and I don't notice anything different other then my E6600 cpu seems to run a little cooler under a full load with Prime95. I'm still not able to overclock any higher then I was with Bios 2747.

    vcore = 1.6
    vfsb = 1.4
    vmch/vich = 1.6
    FSB = 400x9

    dont no! its happend twice with me and a couple of other users
    in these threads, i got my new sticks sitting in a box not willing to
    put them in.

    Might be just a micron problem since they need more volts
    than any other memory.

    I think I finally know what's wrong with my motherboard system. My 3rd slot kills my ram so I had it RMA'd. Now I know why I can't run dual channel anymore, my ram stick and dimm slot got killed. While taking out my ram, my 3rd dimm slot went with it. Now my motherboard only runs on dimm 1&2, not 1&4 for dual channel, I tested my board today with brand new Super Talent DDR2 800 ram and only dimm 1 & 2 works. I hate my 975XBX2 with a passion. Thanks to this thread I figured out what's wrong with my motherboard.

    Unhappy Its true

    I didnt wanna believe the bad thinks about this board. After workin so hard to get my computer built for over 4 months now, it was all up and working. It was so fast, but after 2 days of running, one my brand new sticks of Team Xtreem memory is DEAD. Ok this sux!!!!! Why does an INTEL board kill memory? I thought INTEL was the best, guess I was fooled.. Anyways, I just ordered a Gigabyte P35-DS4, and another kit of dual channel memory from NewEgg. I guess my cpu is ok, right? The board dosent hurt cpu's, just burns up memory right? I dont want to have to fork out more $ for a cpu

    It is okay running ram on dual channel, but when you run 4 dimms like I did and many other people did, you end up killing your third ram on the third slot. It's just not me killing ram, many other people are killing ram on their 3rd slot apparently. Don't believe the raving reviews at NewEgg. All this time I was thinking it was my crappy OCZ Flex XLC ram. Besides that, this ram doesn't like any ram over 1.9v, my OCZ run at 2.0-2.2v and so do my new Super Talent ram too. The 975XBX2 board don't like any ram ran over 1.9v too. So that kinda sucks. I have my Asus Maximus Formula SE now, I will replace this 975XBX2 with it. Helloooo MAXIMUS! Goodbye 975XBX2!

    I'm running 4 sticks at stock vDIMM -- we'll see if it's okay of if #3 dies. How did you document failure? Thanks
