    Asus Striker Extreme + Penryn ... problem

    Hi, i have a ES XQ9650 and last BIOS 1305 in Striker ... but i cant to change a multiplier ... if i set anything, after post bios says : Unknown model CPU, update BIOS ... and my multiplier is again only 6 ... i am not able to set higher ... where is solution?

    It's a known issue.
    You need a new BIOS.
    Don't think it's publicly released yet.

    Mail Asus directly... would be nice to see if the Penryns have less probs on the 680i then the Q6600 regarding FSB holes... (I hope you get a good tech on the other side otherwise you will just have to wait for it to pop up on the FTP...

    i have info from asus forum ... bios will be available in mid of november ...
    How i can to change multi in windows ... i forgot name of that utility ...

    EVEN BETA bios 1401 or ALFA 10081, can't unlock the multi x6 of the York.....I was told that this week, we may have a bios for that....

    So the yorky will eventually run in the striker extreme?This is somewhat good news since I paid 350 for my board.The only problewm is I have a huge fsb unstabilty hole from like 375-400 but then its rock solid at 420-440 ect

    yep 412 and 417 also work, it's a known issue with the striker, we just will have to wait for a bios update for the Striker and as OBR and Hipro5 already have Yorkies, tests will follow shortly after the bios release

    i had my striker extreme for about 2months now and im still new at these over clocking and , so plz bare with me

    OBR u got in ur rig that ur qx9650 is 4.1ghz, but the board not letting u get pass a x6 multiplier so what short of FSB it running
