    Crossfire 2900xt 1Gb on P35 vs X38

I'd like to see anyone else's results if you have them. Here we go:
Ok so I just got my second 2900xt and my new PSU, so I'm going to compare this GPU setup on the P5K Deluxe with the X38. I'm running the following environment:
    Vista Ultimate x64
    Catalyst full install 7.10
In 3dmark all extra processes are killed. Other benches have the following running:
    FRAPS
    LCD studio
    Setpoint
    Rivatuner
    LCD Manager
I have my PCI-E bus at 115 MHz.
Here is my first run at stock clocks (825/1175) with the P5K and Crossfire:

Here is Crysis GPU x64 bench batch file......confirmed that it doesn't support Crossfire yet. I'm going to see if I can edit the .cfg file to enable this manually...
The first screenshot is with Crossfire. The second screenshot is with the single card. The difference is basically experimental error.
    Crossfire

    Single card:

Ok here's an update with the Lost Coast bench. The exact same settings as above.

X38 results will be here tomorrow or Saturday....most likely Saturday.

Excellent thread! Can't wait results. I've seen ONLY 2 similar comparisons in the net. I think many videocard reviews give somewhat differing results with crossfire because it depends their system setups. I'm really considering crossfire, but can't decide P35 or to wait x38 becoming more affordable.

Here are links to two similar tests I've found:
Bit Tech CrossFire Comparison: Intel X38 vs. P35
    OCW: Gigabyte P35 vs. x38

We'll I'll have all the info with Crysis benches. This will include the retail version come the 13th (or 14th....whichever) as well as the next set of drivers coming in a few days.

    \/\/00000000000000000000000000000T!
I got my X38 up and running. The issue was that the mobo sets the voltage to 1.8V by default. I went by Circuit City today and bought a stick of Kingston Value RAM DDR2-667 for $45 and it booted on the first try. I then set my VDIMM to 2.2V and shut down. I then installed 2 Ballistix DIMMS and it POSTed! I set the timings and I'm good now.
BTW I originally bought a stick of DDR2-533 and it wouldn't POST either, but the DDR2-667 would.....if anyone else is having this issue.

I'm going to flash to the latest stable BIOS and check up on the 0701.

Ok here we are! 3dmark06 got quite a boost Especially considering the lower memory frequency and FSB...

Ok here are the Crysis CPU and GPU benches respectively. It seems that lowering the FSB affecting the CPU score a bit....on the minimum side of things.

No, it's not working. I'm going to try the config line :
    r_multigpu 1
and see if that works, but I doubt it. The game has to have a profile for it, thus utilizing alternate frame rendering mode. The FPS is the same as with a single card.

So, so far about a 11-1200 point difference in 06 between the 2 chipsets?? That is a real marginal call for people to upgrade, although the X38 is 2.0, which is kinda "futureproof" to a extent....
