Hey guys I'm thinking about going to a C2D setup, A64 Opteron isn't cutting it anymore. I love my DFI Expert board I'm currently using. Is this DFI board in here a very good one? I believe I read on Anandtech it is capable of using the new intel processors coming out next year ... so it sounds like it has a decent upgrade path?

Official 1107 BIOS is back, I guess it must have been a server issue.

LOL I think its touch & go as to whether you see it or not.

I just checked the link I posted & it still works.

1107 is for me anyway making a touch more bandwidth with a touch less latency although I am not sure I can hold it stable. I have dropped from read delay 6 to 7 & enabled all the "read delay phase adjusts" & with a touch more NB 1.61 to 1.65 its held 10680mb/s & 46.5ns for 3 hours of prime blend.

I cant see any major improvements although any performance improvement it better than nothing especially when you consider this was just a micro code update

I will have a proper play tomorrow night & let you guys know how I get on but right now I am just about to hit the town its Friday night here now

Alright guys check this out, I think I've eliminated my ram from being a problem

Now I've got to figure out what to do next, since it still bluescreens with memory dump after a while of prime 95-ing.

    Here are my settings atm:

Alright set, now I gotta test.

Sort of OT: Does anybody have any cooling ideas for the NB and PWM on this board. My temps are getting a little toasty compared to some others around here. I've got good airflow in my p180B, and I know people say "just stick a fan over it". Well that's great when it's sitting flat and level but the fan's going to end up at the bottom of my case when I turn it upright...

I hope you get your issues sorted. I am having a hard time too and hope to learn some things at the same time as you. My Ballistix ram is not playing nice at all and even at 800mhz it can't pass 1h of OCCT when the ram is rated for 1066.

Well I left prime running Blend and came back to find my computer had rebooted on me yet again. It's not my ram so WTH is going on here?

I don't know if it's my temps, my CPU is perfect but with EIST and C1E off my PWM is 43C idling here and my chipset is 48C

They're usually around 40C and 45C normally but P95 really heats them up.

Is the northbridge crapping out or what? I'm thinking about just slamming the volts up to see if that does anything, but that would just heat the NB up more.

Does your RAID or Audio card work in other slots? I got Prelude plugged in the second from the bottom PCI slot and HBA controller in the bottom PCIe slot. Get a floppy dude if you don't want dead parts.

Well currently I'm using the settings you gave, except I upped the vcore to 1.37xxx and it's been blending for 25 mins now I'm typing on it.

Current clocks are 400x9 1:1 divider with your settings and 1.37vcore

Did you put all the cards in at once or did you try inserting one card at a time and let it boot up? I have had problems in the past where cards all try to use the same resources by default so I select the reset pci config option in bios and insert one card at a time while I let it boot to windows.

Man... That's to low voltage to run your CPU @400*9. I believe you may need voltage around 1.40~1.45 and some Q6600 a little bit more.

That's for posting your settings Esau

I'm not getting my hopes up yet but it's still priming after 1hr now at 1.37

I've looked at the [H] overclocking database and I'm about right or even lower than some of the guys on there regarding my voltage level for CPU mhz.

There's two guys on there that I'm close to with my results. The first is at 3.6Ghz @ 1.376 vcore, the second is 3.7Ghz @ 1.38 vcore.

Anywho since reading that I realized that I've got some more headroom to go

edit -- did I use enough smilies?

    edit2-- 1 hour 10 mins now

    edit3 -- Temps have dropped a bit - CPU: 46 46 40 40, PWM 55C, chip set still frying bacon @ 61C.

At first i tried X-Fi on bottom, doesn't work. Then put it one slot above and it works.
After that i put the Adaptec in the middle Slot, nothing. In bottom Slot it's working, but it's only PCIe x1
Would a boot CD-Rom work like a floppy ? Since i've got no floppy here

I've done it this way a couple times with no issues, but its obviously not as safe as doing it the normal way... more things can go wrong.

Well I got my first blue screen after 2 hours and 8 minutes of blend testing.

so I bumped the vcore up to 1.38125 and I'm retesting now.

Has anyone figured out a way, if it is even possible at all to use the 333/1066 strap option? Since the day this board was released that option has been unavailable to use due to it not allowing the system to post once selected. It always results in a C1 error no matter what else is done to help remedy it. Even on the latest release bios this still occurs. Is this a bug that has yet to be squashed or am I missing something? If anyone is able to successfully use this strap please do share on how. I think I would like to keep my system at 3.0ghz but would like to try my ram at 1066 without having to fiddle with too much NB/VTT voltage that is required when you have a high FSB to obtain 1066+ speeds.
