Cool Yorkfield in the house fellas > warmup under SS phase > can ya say 5Ghz Quad!!!

OK so i finally was able to get a nice toy (on loan from Ms. Intel Australia thanks for that). These will be short and sweet bench sessions and fingers crossed it all goes well before final LN2 soon.

Note: this chip is as hot/cold as E6750 or E6850 CPUs i've tried >>> i mean WTF 1.76V benching 3DMARK06 at 4.84GHz and maintaining around -46C on evap loaded until it gets to CPU tests and clonks out around -44.3C heheh

    Test Configuration:
    Gigabyte X38-DQ6 DDR2 Motherboard (F6a bios)
    Intel Core2 Extreme Quad QX9650
    2GB DDR2 Corsair Dominators PC10000
Single 8800GT PCIe 2.0 512MB Graphics Card (Stock cooler)
    Corsair HX620 Power Supply
    Blackbox 1HP Rotary SS
    80GB Samsung SATA Hard Drive
    Windows XP Pro 32bit

    CPUz 5GHz
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=265522

    Hexus PiFast 19.31 @4.8Ghz

    Aquamark3 = 273,146 with 4846Mhz on CPU and 712/999 on 8800GT

    3DMARK01 = 84,042 4.8Ghz and 700/999 on 8800GT

    32M wPrime = 8.484s

    32M SuperPi = 9m 53.500s @4818Mhz 602Mhz on RAM 4-4-4-8 2.42v

    1M SuperPi = 9.438s @4890Mhz 611Mhz on RAM 4-4-4-8 2.42v

this is just a little warmup for some of the things i will be doing with this little sucker in the next few weeks

i can also bench at higher clocks....i think i was doing 1Ms around 4970 or so from memory and 32M stopped half way around 4.9xGHz heh

    DRY ICE RUNS....

i had an unproductive run due to motherboard OVP problem with selecting 1.9v in bios (mobo refuses to boot in 90% instances)
another issue is vcore drop & droop >> all up at 1.9v selected in bios i get ~1.79v load in windows so i spend a million hours troubleshooting and in the end the board just wouldn't boot at those volts any more so just gave up

i have a modded DDR3 board coming in so there won't be any more of such problems

at the end of the night i did a quick 1M and Aquamark3 runs

man i wanted to see sub 9 second Pi for some long

    SuperPi: 8.969s
    QX9650@ 5150MHz 1.79v load
DRY ICE (k|ngp|n Dragon Evo 2.4 pot)
-70C on the pot > -63C on CPU but it's a bit whacky i think probablt -57C whacky because it was showing -79C/-80C on stock clocks in bios

    Aquamark3: 280,988
    QX9650@ 5150MHz 1.79v load
DRY ICE (k|ngp|n Dragon Evo 2.4 pot)
    -70C on the pot

i did some nature and Lobby low runs as high as 5160 just haven't put together any scores LOL
with stable volts on CPU at 1.85v load this chip would easily bench 5.2Ghz on DICE
    .....

    aaaaaaaaaaaand some more

did some more Single Stage last night with Gigabyte 8800GTS 320MB GFX Card

I have to say this is the best card i've ever seen man....OCs like crazy on stock air.....i benchmarked as high as 729/1890 /1000

picked up some World Records with it too and others were close but not close enough

    Test Configuration:
    Gigabyte X38T-DQ6 DDR3 Motherboard (F2 bios)
    Intel Core2 Extreme Quad QX9650
    2GB DDR3 Corsair Dominators 1800 CAS7 (Damn Corsair makes nice RAM )
Single 8800GTS PCIe 2.0 320MB Graphics Card (Stock cooler)
    Corsair HX620 Power Supply
    Blackbox 1HP Rotary SS
    80GB Samsung SATA Hard Drive
    Windows XP Pro 32bit

here is what SuperPi with lovely Corsair DDR3 dominators looks like at 5Ghz

Not a bad start but you gotta pick up that bus more and probably kick over to DDR3.

1.76v is a lot for single stage. Hopefully it is a solid 1.76v.

    Any bandwidth screenshots?

    Hi charles

this CPU s itself at anything over the 408MHz FSB

Gigabyte has a droop on their boards so 1.8 becomes 1.76v under load as far as i remember now

i don't really do bandwidth shots because i never use it and means nothing in my routines. I let my memory tweaking show through SuperPi primarily and then others memory dependent benchmarks that are revolving around HWBOT entries firstly and then other interests i have

the X38T-DQ6 hasn't shown up on my doorstep today as it was supposed to so no DDR3 this weekend

i just jumped from F3 to F6b which was the latest beta bios

F3 i benchmarked that nice E6750 past 600MHz FSB which i had to knock back to around 570 or something on this bios bit since F6b supports penryn i haven't got a lot of choice

    Great start Dino!!!

    OT:
Next week I'll receive mine and I'll put immediately under my 1HP SS
Do you think it's possible to close the 1M over 5/5.1Ghz under phase?
Mine is capable of those temps with an E6850 @ 1,42V in idle:

    Congratz again for the start!
