    Quantum Force MARS P35 CPU PLL, NB GTL, FSB Swing Mods

    CPU PLL VMOD

    Just near Southbridge if you need more than 1.95v PLL:

    You can use pencil or a 10K ohms VR. For 10K ohms VR set at 10k ohms first tune down for more voltage.

    MCH GTLRef AKA FSB VRef & VFSB Swing

    Beside chipset. Set at Max resistance and tune down to increase voltage. Both voltages are derived from CPU VTT - Default = MCH GTLRef ~ 0.66x VTT, VFSB Swing ~ 0.25x VTT.

    Thanks so much for the voltage mods

    5MHz gain was with my second best E6850; have seen its best one about 15MHz gain @2.44 -- 2.48V on air.
    Not sure about 45nm frozen though

    Host compensation reference voltage, read more about it:

    ftp://download.intel.com/design/chip...s/31761001.pdf

    P35 and X38 similar.

    Is there a pencil mod for the vdrop?

    I'm testing my E8400 on this MARS mobo and it is amazing, one weird thing to me is that the NB volts afect a lot on the CPU FSB. I got 25MHz more by increasing the NB volts. This helped a lot on max MHz clocks.

    I'm using bios G29, the half multis get a wrong CPU MHz in the BIOS. Is there any other improoved bios for this wolfdales?

    P.D. my chipset fan was imposible to attach the right way so i had to attach it on the other side, i spent like 30 mins trying on the correct side.
    P.D. 2 i gotta test with 2 cores enabled now
    P.D. 3 when can we get MARS DDR3?

    yes, it need much NB VCore

    500FSB = ~1.45v
    555FSB = ~1.90v

    on P35-DQ6 did it without problems 570FSB....

    nice!
    thanks for posting the mods man!

    pll voltage to 1.9v gives me a 15mhz fsb boost on my 6750 on air, more doesnt help, tried up to 2.2v...

    i heard 2.4v is too high for 24/7 and one guy damages his cpu with this.
    so be carefull with too high pll voltages
