DoNER90,
noticed you have the top panel off in the first pic. is there a way to cover that front hole.. i'm planning to buy a 900 and make the top completely flat.
The power button could be rerouted Soundgraph ultrabay or a similar device..
any ideas?

how do you remove the top bracket of the case? the part that covers the fan and the rest of it? what sort of tool do you use to remove those little screw-like parts..
how do you get it to the state on the first pic in this post:

Their are two screws in the middle of the top , their is 4 clips near their and at the back , their is a strange froward facing clip in the front ohh and you have to removed the front of brazer first
making the ninehunderd flat at the top is 100% possible but ill do it with a insulating fiberglass panel ( my dad makes them ) but I think making it flat totally ruins the point of the case .
tnx for the info![]()
Thanks for the tip.. look forward to your 900 mod![]()
I just bought an Antec 900 on sale at the Egg for 89 with rebate and free shipping. Any suggestions on setup before I get started I have been viewing this post for a while?
My specs are in my sig also I was have NB chipset heating issues that is the main reason for the upgrade.

I bought a Antec 900 earlier this year for my PC upgrade. I did not decide on modifications until I realized I will run into a problem with the CPU Aux power cable if I did not.
I have never modified a PC case before and this will be my first. I have not did much yet but once I get my motherboard I can confirm the marks I made so I can begin.
I like alot of ideas posted on this topic so I will be taking some of them to use.
Ones I have planned is
1. Run all PSU and data cables behind the motherboard
2. Reverse the hard drives and run the cables though the side
The cables I have decided on is OKGEAR 18" UV Blue L-Shape SATA II Data Cable. Is that cable long enough to do the reversed drives?
3. Flip the PSU in the correct position so the fan is facing down. I have completed this already and the results ended up like the following
I have already made the cut for the PSU cables but wont do any more until I have the motherboard to verify the marks I made.
I was uneasy on doing this in the beginning because I did not want to ruin a $120 case but I knew I really had no choice unless I wanted a CPU Aux cable running across the motherboard.
sekazi,
if you have access to powder coating, i suggest you go for it after the mod and before installation. not only will it make the inside of you case look better it will also make it sturdier and the edges of the cut round(thus you won't need the edge trims for the wires and that one under for the PSU. goodluck on your build.
cheers
I thought about powder coating but I could not find a price of how much it would cost. Also wouldn't it require me to completely disassemble the case? The cuts under the trim are pretty nasty as well so unless it worked miracles the trim would be put back on.
I had thought about spray painting but decided not to. There is a place less than 20 miles away that powder coats industrial parts but I do not know their prices. Flat black would be my choice if I did.
I think dipping is the best for PC cases , but thats just me becuase I am going to Nickel plate my 900 :p

yeah, me too...
sekazi,
did you not file the edges of your cuts?
I am using a nibbler to do the cuts. The edges are not sharp but rather uneven. I do not have a file so I didnt bother since it was going to be covered up. What find of file do you suggest? I may give it a go.
I am always trying new things with my case , I was thinking of making it a inverted ATX which cant work due to Structural problems and the potential to ruin a real nice case , the plain back is just not cutting it :p , I want something that will last and will make my 900 stick out above the rest :p
[QUOTEWhat find of file do you suggest? I may give it a go.][/QUOTE]
find a half moon file cross-cut. about 6-8inches long. that should help you with flat and rounded cuts.
goodluck
Would a dremel grinding stone work instead of a file? I was looking today and I can get a dremel for $34.99 and then some grinding stones.
http://www.dremel.com/en-us/tools/to...=66981&I=69674
That is the one for $34.99. Or do the grinding stones get used up too quickly?
Just upgraded the system in my Sig to an antec 900 from a Raidmax smilodon and noticed a 9 degree drop in MB temps immediately with terrible wire management. I had to put it togehter quickly due to the fact I have work due on monday and needed the PC but ill post pics once I get the wires routed properly. Great case for cooling!
