    Dear valued Frys.com customer,

    Thank you for contacting Frys.com.

Although we were expecting to receive your product on 10/30,
unfortunately the item has been delayed. At this time we have yet to
receive a new estimated shipping date from the manufacturer, but we are
expecting an update in a few days. Our apologies for the continued delay
    and inconvenience.

I could have waited for the card since I'm not in a rush. Their price is excellent, but I decided to go ahead and cancel since I'm just not thrilled about having to use the stock cooler in my very cool and quiet main rig. So I'll maybe consider the palit version.

yeah it never worked for 7800, 8800 GTS/X ... doubt it will ever work

this is nv's only disadvantage i guess (not for them as less voltage = less RMA) ATI's card's vGPU can be changed thru ATI tool ... = maybe 50MHz extra ocing over stock voltage .. not many ppl runs 2900XT @ 900/2000 24/7 from what i have seen..... on stock it can pretty much oc to 850/2000,

but hey with stock cooler, stock everything nv's card usually ocs pretty well ... so i guess its no biggy . i mean how much performance gain do u expect for say .. 730/2000 vs 760/2100 .. not a whole lot

Ahhh, I was under the impression it may have worked for some of the older cards, guess time made me forget.

Indeed, the card has different voltages for 2D and 3D. People have measured idle vGPU @ 1.05v and load 1.1v.
Modbios' will only increases idle voltage...
You were not supposed to see this.

I wonder if nvidia intentionally didn't want this card to exceed the gtx.
I mean the memory is actually rated for 2ghz, yet it's underclocked at 1.8.
Which is perfect for us overclockers who want to push these modules to 2200+
In every stat, the gt falls behind the gtx just ever-so slightly.
Also, from the interview, it seems this processor has some things that are disabled that the gts or gtx might have enabled, but who knows.
The heatsink is extremely weak, yet the gts ones are much more robust.
Could this card possibley hit 800/1850/2200 under water?
curious minds want to know. Also, if the gts version is going to be 10-15% faster at $350, i won't even bother upgrading.
Most games run super fast with a G80 gts, so I'm sure the gt can hold us by for another year or so.

Sli was very dissapointing in the benchmarks. The only game that actually doubled under lower resolutions was fear. Otherwise, most benchmarks were the same at 1280x1024 with sli than they were with a single card. It wasn't until crazy resolutions later 2560x? did we see the sli make a difference.
If you play ultra high settings at 1280x1024 in direct10 with a gt at 24-26fps (crysis) and with sli you are now in the 40's, then it's definitely worth it.
Until then, I will wait for nvidia to tweek the drivers

I'm copying this from hardf**** because it was very valid to the subject.
This is the first post of someone watercooling it and I must say I'm very impressed.
I just don't understand why the memory can't overclock that well above 2ghz when thats what it's rated for...

""Dangerden GPU waterblock, just on the gpu, idle temps 31c load temps 36c.

    core clock=777 votage limited,
shaderclock=1950 I can get the shaders to 2000 still testing for stability at that speed, didnt have much time today. and even benched at 2050 but I have settled at 1950 for now.
    memory=2000mhz

shaderclock settled at 2ghz, I had my memory overclocked to 2100first and I would get lock ups only in crysis, I guess thats highly memory intensive, lowered the memory to 2000 and the bumped the shader clock to 2000 and all good now. one tip guys, I lowered post processing to medium in crysis, and left everything else untouched at high, and guess what my fps went up to 44.20 at the same reslution below from 35.

    core2quad q6600 at 3.6 Ghz

    3dmark06 15602 single card.

    lost planet 1920x1200 0xAA 16xAF, DX10

    snow 50.1

    cave 75.3

Crysis 1680x1050 everything high no AA.
avg 36 fps , its pretty much constant, never see it dip below 32-31. 36fps is benched witth the built in benchmark. if post processing is set to medium than fps=44fps.

I will post screenshots later, I am on my laptop and away from my house, I remember these numbers from benching earlier today.''

cstkl1, you can see NKD has things like *antivirus* software running, that will certainly lower scores, that's probably the difference.

    Did I say I love my 8800GT?

It was quite a very major upgrade over my year old x1900GT.

Seems like the prices have dropped back from the sudden slight price gauging to the levels they were at just before launch now at least on european sites.

I dunno how long I can hold out anymore, 8800GT is getting too interesting and I'm dying to play with a new gfx card.

Somehow I have a feeling it could be true as there's been so much noise about this lately and ATI has remain silent, that's not a good thing. I hope it's not but yea wouldn't suprise me anymore. If so I'm gonna pickup 8800GT or the new GTS for sure.

    MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E OC:
running at 660MHz core, 1650MHz on the shaders, and 950MHz memory (1900MHz effective). These speeds are 9% faster than the stock 8800 GT on the graphics core and shaders, and 5% faster memory.

    NKD@hardforum 770/2000/2000
shaders @ 2000 : this oc could be a gtx in games. (putting synthetic 3d06 aside)

not to mention the impressive 8800gt sli fps

Working on finding my core limit and it looks like it's 710 (not real exciting lol) temp maxes out at 60c with a Zalman Fatal1ty FC-ZV9 (Stock it was around 56c)

Ram is at 975 and shader stock 1625 for now.

Going to see if I can get more out of the ram now.
