    2 x 1GB CellShock DDR3 RAMs Test

Just a test on this pair of DDR3 Memory, with black heatspreaders, seems second best, compared to the blue HS.

Well I was lazy and just followed Hipro5's Memset Tweaks on the Memory and it worked great.

The funny part is with the exact same settings, but tras adjusted to one notch tighter @ 15, Superpi was unstable. @ 16 and all was smooth, never had tras made that difference for me till now.

940 @ CL7-6-6-16 seems like the ball park for these high-end DDR3s, probably due to MCH, be it on X38 or P35.

Which board was this on and volts used ? Try it in Blitz Extreme (white dimm slots) or P5K3 Deluxe (black dimm slots)

:O can you show me how? my P5K3 Deluxe does DDR3 2000MHz at 1.7v on the nb but is really hard to go above

    nice
    1880 766, did you try 765?
I asked hipro about this but didnt understand his reply... he said with 766 he can run a lower tras and it gives him a better result?

so 766-16 is faster than 765-18? weird... gotta try that

Shamino, wheres the mars x48 board?
Whats the max memclock you can get with cas8 and 1.9v on that board?
How much did the higher vnb help?

    Gotta try 7-6-6 on mine.

Earlier (before reading this thread), I put the 0704 BIOS on my P5K3 and went from 462 to 465 FSB, also tried tRAS values 17, 16 and 15. Well, 17 was good but 16 was slower in 1m and 15 unstable on boot. Also, the difference between 2T and 1T is marginal. And my particular chipset doesn't like more volts - NB 1.55v good, 1.70v bad.

Finally ended this morning with this (trying to get sub-12s but no luck). This is 1T misreported by CPU-Z, or T is borked in the BIOS and I'm fooling myself there's any difference:

for DDR3 i tested so far, tRAS lower = much better performance than lowering tRP but tRAS needs volts - lots of it for some DDR3 hehe

stone_cold_Jimi, intel chipsets cant run 1T, nobody knows what setting it to 1T actually does, but it doesnt change the command rate afaik.

pt1t your really lucky with that 1600
I can tell you most 1600s are failed 1800s, so they should clock notably worse.

    thanks eva, thats interesting...
was that perf in superpi or everest?

hmmmm interesting... i didnt check for performance, only for stability

I was curious what the absolutely tightest timings were that i could set with what tras and still have the mem 100% stable and theese were my results:

    5-3-3-7
    5-4-3-11
    5-4-4-11
    5-5-4-11
    6-5-4-13
    6-5-5-13
    6-6-5-18
    7-6-5-18
    8-7-6-18

    5-3-3-7 works at around 1000
all the other cas5 and cas6 combos work up to around 1500 and 7 and 8 are good for up to 2000 and higher as everybody knows

thats all dual channel, hope this is interesting for you guys and maybe helps you to find some interesting timing combo

Nailed it! Thanks hipro5, eva2000, although 7-6-6 didn't do it for me, lower tRAS , higher volts and MemSet tweaks did.

can anyone get it stable @ ddr2000.. ?

i can also do the Everest test etc

maybe its common that it cant handle ddr2000 for many people, and its just not MY board
