    They are official ?

Cool ! These results look extremely good for a mid-range card.

Anyone here have a guess how fast this card is gonna sold out on Monday ?

Since tweaktown's is the 660/1900/1650 part, I wonder how hot the 700/2000/1750 will run! Damn the fan noise is pretty bad too.

Here's a problem with the tweak town review:

No GTX/Ultra or GTS 640 to compare!

Also, poor performance compared to the 2900XT and so on in World in Conflict, although it tends to crush in everything else

Poor thermals and noise level though

That fan noise is bugging me, but I guess a nice VF900 or the like should take care of that. I would rather they had stuck with the 8800GTS/GTX coolers. Two slot cards don't bother me, I just want it to be quiet!

It's benched against the GTX & Ultra here for Crysis. http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/12...lts/index.html

This is really making me wonder if the *new* 8800GTS is going to be the new flagship card. Going by those results, the GTS will clearly hand the GTX it's rear end.

I doubt Nvidia want it to compare to the 'old' GTS though, since it's an 'official' review.

    Yeah, That too.

Anyone here know what is the other 8800s' Noise Level ?

    EDIT: Nevermind, found it.

Maybe nvidia assumed the people like us are all going to use 3rd party coolers on these so they went with the cheapest possible solution to keep the price down? but the masses are not going to bother with ocing so they can get b with the bare minimum allowing the card to function respectively. on another note those G80 stock coolers can't be that cheap to make.

just dled all 18 pages, seems like it beats the 2900xt, by ~ 5% on most games , except WIC i think ... and COH DX10

i think i will take the heatsink cover off, and disconnect its stock fan , and put a 120mm blowing away from it

for $250 its a killer deal, but i might wait for the new GTS then decide, and the RV670 as well

According to gpu-z the bandwidth for the gt is 57.6 Ghz does that affect in some kind of way?? Ultra's bandwidth is ~106 Ghz right? just curious

hmm im guessing those games dont use that much bandwidth?? also it only has 16ROP, same as 2900XT, i guess today's games stress shaders a lot more than bandwidth and pipelines ..

how many TMU does it have??

they shoulda test Crysis SP demo , i wanna see how it performs

Though TBH the World in Conflict measurement was clearly DX9 mode. Otherwise the 320mb GTS would be struggling with 20fps at 1600x1200. I'm guessing it'll still lose to the 2900XT in DX10 of course, given it's about 93% as fast as the GTX in that setting. The 8800GT will probably sit in somewhere in between the GTS and 2900XT, but closer to the XT numbers.

It'll probably take an effect at very high resolutions, and probably with RPGs/strategy games (like the World in Conflict numbers being a little lower than the GTS in DX9).

    WHAT ???

How Could 8800GT be in between GTS and 2900XT ?

8800GT Completely Kicked 2900XT in the A** ! (According to those reviews)

    They aren't even comparable.

To tell you the truth I don't really know what to think, because the Expreview benchmarks have looked unrealistically in favor of the GT, while that German website and the Tweaktown seem to have the GT performing somewhat lower in the same benchmarks. Look -- I ain't complaining since I already have a GT lined up to replace my 320mb GTS, I'm just trying to figure out which one of these benchmarks is more representative of the performance (or if it's really that hard to extrapolate because differences in CPUs make large differences in the relative results).

Ah huh, See what I mean ?

8800GT is so much better than 2900XT.

2900XT can't even do high resolution (HD TV res) (ATI wouldn't let you do such res).

Anyway, how does Crysis rank those numbers?

Do they disallow you to turn to the highest setting if you have a 3 or something?

my guess is that 3 = high, 4 = very high (same as in game.cfg), so if a card is ranked 4 it can run very high .. but at 1280x1024 im guessing , as thats the resolution cevat was talking about in that interview where he said that 8800GTS,2900XT can max out this game at 1280x1024(now we should know that he was talking about DX9)

the fact is 1280x1024 19" is prolly the most popular monitor right now, and then 22" then 24 , 30 .. well i have 22" 1680x1050, so im thinking GT SLI, then if the new G92 GTS can outperform the GT, ill return it lol

Lol I'd like to see what the 8800 Ultra's scores are on Very High. I'm guessing it's chugging along at 20fps.
