Got NVIDIA to change my flights into san jose, and I still couldnt make editors day. Really jet lagged and really bummed about it. Got pretty messed up coming home from running ragged though the week.

If GoriLLakoS wouldn't of spent the previous night so late with his lover , maybe I would have made my orignal flight....j/k.

These greek guys are my OC blood brothers for life
Hipro, esdee, gorillakos and all the other greek forum memebers that I had the pleasure to meet in and around the event. They really made me feel at home and such a solid group of guys. I envy the overclock scene in greece as it is very, very strong! What can I say about George that hasn't already been said a million times, the guy is brilliant with electronics and can pour a cpu container damn good too. He's hardcore all the way and benches with an insane level of passion. He validated ++++ everything I have always assumed and known for years benching against each other.
Esdee has a brilliant mind and understands cooling very well with regards to overclocking/loads/etc. He also seems very dedicated in the science of overclocking. Hipro is very lucky to have him around the lab as part of H.O.T...even though he might disagree lol . Esdee's girlfriend is hot too
Gorillakos....hmmm Bill reminded me alot of one of my brothers who is almost same age as him and looks much like him. Sicilians and greeks look pretty simliar lol. Hats off to him and plaisio for putting this event together. It was really nuts how much these guys put into this with the dancers, lights, presentations, giveawyas, etc.. a little distracting for overclocking lol, but I think this event has set a new standard for the the way these things should be done, It was a true " overclock super event". And remember Bill, it is not necessary to redline every single gear in your car when you drive it .

    i forgot the past part!
    my journey back to germany

    1. almost missed the flight, my ticket said gate5, and everybody told me to go to gate5, then the plane almost left without me cause the plane went to gate7 and they only anounced it in greek (maybe also in english but it sounded greek and i didnt understand it? )

    2. almost missed my connection flight in geneva cause they directed me to the way to check out, which meant i had to check in again so i almost missed the flight.

    3. the plane almost crashed in frankfurt cause there was still a plane on the runway and the plane suddenly got a huge boost and started again when it was only 10meters or so above the runway.

    4. bomb alarm at the package claim, 45min waiting...

    5. my luggage was nowhere to find, it was selected for a random security check... another 30mins waiting

    6. missed the train cause of all the delays

    7. train cancelled cause of a strike of the train staff

    8. train delayed

    9. took the wrong metro in karlsruhe, apparently there are two different S2 lines, one stops after half the distance... so i had to get off at 1 am and wait for the next one...

    10. finally got the right metro and fell asleep in it at like 2am, missed the station and woke up when the train was already on the way back to karlsruhe

    11. while i was talking to the taxi line to get a cab the battery died on me

    12. the wheels of my travel suitcase died on me...

    13. after 30mins walking through some village i found a public phone... but it was dead.

i kept walking with my bag, then some guy passed by me in his car and stopped to check what was going on, since it was 3am and 0 degrees and i was walking around with only a sweater on, pulling a huge travel bag behind me he was going to the same town i live in and turned out to be a friend of a friend and gave me a lift.

so i arrived at home at like 3:30/4am completely frozen...
i got a cold now and feel like sht but im alright, the weekend in athens was enough fun to make me forget about all this and just smile

damn man, sorry to hear that...
so you missed the editors day in the end?
you know that means its pretty much all your fault if 780 is bugged since you didnt help them to fix it right?

yeah, this event surely had set new standards.
i was already amazed by the aocm ocing event in germany from awardfabrik, but this thing really blew my mind. im really glad that a huge company like plesio sponsored this event and made all this possible. thanks bill for making this possible!

Luckily I didnt bring any back with me into the US...haha guatum is reading that and going shi(f)t!!. Your pot is safe and sound my friend Hipro was making a littel joke with you about buying it because he knew it was yours...now it's signed buy a few special guys

The pots going through customs didnt seem to be any sort of a problem like I thought it would. I think the key is they dont want to see alot of metal and wires in combination with something organic..it was all metal in that suitcase.

It was a really nice event! Thanks to Bill (GoriLLakoS) for all the organisation and the support. Thousand thanks to you and your family to allow me and saaya to stay at your place You driving style was very adventurous too

Getting to know esdee was also nice. You are a clever and friendly guy, hope to see and talk to you again

Thanks to George's wife! Without her kindness, George and the rest would not have been able to bench for 26 hours straight ^^

The whole event was amazing and a lot of fun though I did not see that much of Athens. Hopefully we will meet there again, maybe next time with the hotels closer to eachother, so it wouldn't take hours to get from hotel A to hotel B.

Was a big honor to me to bench besides 4 great legends. Thank you fredyama, Shamino, hipro5 and Kingpin for that experience!

Vince, too bad you couldn't make it to the Editor's day :/ At least you have some time to spend with your girlfriend, the dogs and the Yorkfield now

Man after all the traveling it feels pretty good, though I wish I was in Santa clara today...shi(f)t happens right?? I tried to sleep on the planes but the flight over the atlantic was pretty rough and it was difficult. I slept at both airport departure gates when I could, but I had to keep one ear open for the boarding calls or I would have been screwed even worse.
Now just need to find a place around here to get some souflaki ....greektown(little area in downtown detroit) for sure.

sorry olli, but its just too hilarious
Next time, I won't wear a blue shirt, thats for sure. Either black or white :P It was freaking hot in there with all the people and the lights. Usually I dont sweat much, but in the picture it looks really bad. Was even worse at the end.

im still so damn tired and exhausted... the way back home here in germany with 0 degrees hit me hard when i was already exhausted. it was really great to meet all of you... i wish athens was nothing but a 2 hours drive away from all our homes so we could meet up there every weekend and bench and work on pots and cascades together

and yeah, people in athens never seem to drive to go from one place to another, as soon as they get into a car or onto a bike they are racing like there was no frickin tomorrow and they wanted to enjoy every last minute before the wolrd ends and rather die having fun than make it through the day without having been close to the edge... crazy attitude... but i really really like it!
