yah im not impressed with the long boot time in RAID. thought it was the onabord but takes same time with this Areca. its stupid that P965 gigabyte with E4300 @ 3GHZ,2GB RAM and single SATA 200GB drive can boot into windows 10+ seconds faster than DFI P35 with QX6850 @ 3.6GHz, 4GB RAM and 2x 150GB Raptors in RAID0 on a PCI-E controller card.

Brother you were right about the fine delays, I just checked the auto set fine delays of 913 against 1005 then I flashed to 1019 & recorded the settings see below.
I have lost around 50mb/s with the new 1019 BETA BIOS with like for like settings yet the Latency appears to have improved a tiny bit & now gives 46.4 more often than not when you run Everest through its test.
I will have a mess about later & see if I can benefit anything from the 1019 BIOS.

I just got the new memory in, I first try'd the 512MB of DDR2 667 ram and I still got the C1 error... is there even point of trying the DDR2 800? I don't feel like opening it if I'm just going to get the same result... any idea what I should do now? I'm totally out of ideas.... Just wasted over 3g and no pc...

Clear CMOS first, and put the new RAM in the slot closest to the CPU (this is what I found to be the most successful).
Also, you should be in a barebones config, meaning everything but the essential components should be disconnected.
Give it a go.

Placed the 667 memory closest to the CPU, cleared the CMOS, removed the battery for about 20 min or so... only have the MB, PSU, CPU, Video Card & Memory in... give it a go and same C1...
That's what I was trying to avoid all along... now 8 more days with no PC... and it would really suck if I get a bad mobo again after that... I just don't know what I would do...

Well did any of you guys had the same problem when you first got yours? What kind of memory did you use to boot it up? Did it boot up right away or you had to mess with it?...
![]()
I didn't have to really mess with it... it just needed my one DIMM in the slot closest to the CPU to boot.
Just as a precaution, remove EVERYTHING and reseat it all... make sure ALL power connectors are in and tight (esp the aux power connectors).
Go ahead and try moving the RAM to a diff. slot too... just in case.

I did have a issue similar to that just recently after some misadventures overclocking.
I disconnected the power, popped the CMOS battery and left it sit for ten minutes, put the battery back in and reconnected power. I made sure to use low voltage RAM...a single stick in the slot nearest the CPU...and to restart I first depressed the reset then the power still pressing down on the reset then after ten seconds released reset then power.
If that does not work try turning off te PSU and letting it sit fo an hour and try again.
Between clearing CMOS and letting it sit I was able to get back into BIOS.

I'm guessing since it has never booted it may be defective, but since you got ram try all the slots (one at a time of course). try remounting cpu, when it is out wait ten minutes or so before putting it back in. (remove all power during this incl. battery) plug in all the power and give it a shot. also while board is unplugged and battery out hold down on the power /reset like CyberDruid explained. good luck.
where did you get your board?

I got the board from newegg... I will get a replacement in like 8 days... and ill hope for the best next time... So is getting a bad MB normal? This is my first PC that I have build from scratch and I was very prepared for this and I'm sure I did it all right but I keep thinking that its my fault for some reason...
