    Yes. Others would be interested.

OR, you could do a post on them in the "Online Deals and Steals" forum, here, and then post a link to it.

Same 8500 as earlier, just pushed a littlebit more voltage

    Ballistix 8500
    Dfi Infinity P965-S
    E6600

    2.50v

    3-3-3-9................470Mhz (aka DDR2 940)
    4-4-4-12..............620Mhz (aka DDR2 1240)

Now....I have a dilema...I managed to strip one of the heatsinks down and of course that the chips are obviously rebranded "Ballistix". But I can't even find anything searching the code written on the chips (0734-18F). This isn't a matter of life and death or anything, because they are performing great so it doesn't matter if they are GMH or GKX. But I am curious though

Another curiosity - how do you guys think that a 2x512Mb kit of Crucial 8000 Fat Bodies clock compared to these? And..beeing only 1gig, would it have any speed penalties in SuperPi???

they are , give them 2.75V, loosen up timings to 5_5_5_12 you will see them fly over 700

I don't know if I will give them quite 2.75v ( I really want to keep this ram), but they will taste more volts when I will test them on P35 (probably on Blood Iron or P5K), because I am sure they can do more than 650Mhz and I also want to see some 700Mhz action

That 2.75v sound pretty mean for my pour "almost virgin" Ballistix, do you think that my "150CFM Monster Ram Cooler" (powered by Delta Electronics) will keep them safe? (never used it before though, too much noise) For these tests I didn't use direct airflow on them (I have a 120mm fan blowing from the bottom of the mobo in this direction) but if I take the voltage up I have to put those mean monster fans on them....my poor ears.

Nice cooler but im rather sure nothing can keep them safe at 2.75v

    I thought so...

What volts do you guys usually feed them max (just for benchies?) I personally am a little bit reluctant in using more than 2.6v, especially on D9GMH. On Fat Bodies yes, they need volts, they are the DDR2 BH-5, but the GMH and GKX have their safe limits, don't they?

Max ive used a few times is 2.60v for maybe 5 minutes each time and i think even that harms the dimms.

and that still counts as aircooling
try 2x deltas on cpu cooler in push pull plus a 92mm Vantec tornado on graphicscard + a 80 mm vantec tornado on ram to get acclimated to the noise

Weeeell....For extreme air bench-es I also have 2 120x120x38 Sunon fans for push/pull on the CPU h/s and some more other fans which I don't usually use. But these Deltas sound different because of their size.....It's a much higher pitched sound

Anyway, if it can't make it safe at 2.6 for benchies it's kinda useless I am not planning to give more than 2.50v - 2.55v to my dear Ballistix in these conditions, i don't want to burn them, because they are really good and because I don't bring Crucials from the States on a daily basis and I do not have them in the stores here.....

bleh... my bad, forgot about the high pitched whining of 40mm fans... too long ago that i used one

i wasnt 100% serious anyway about the getting used to the high noise of deltas anyway... they so loud thats one never really gets used to it.

    @Monstru

D9GKX are going to die easy with 2,6 my Ballistix @ 1250 i fead them with 2,45 V
i had feed on kit Mashkin Xp2 6400 with 3Volt for Cl 3 and 10 min later the kit died

D9GMH are "listening" better than D9GKX on Volt but same think here not more than 2,3 for 24/7

now i have 1100Mhz Cl4 3-3-3 2T with 2,275Volt with more than one month Uptime

Thx for sharing that info, it is good to know which ic's respond to what volts. Anyway, I am asking more about benchmarking, not daily use....For daily use I really don't overvolt them (anythin up to 2.1 I consider a normal voltage for D9)

Here we have an example of daily use settings, I think it's more than enough for most users, and the volts are kept low and safe:

    E6600 3Ghz @1.29v
    DDR2 1150 5-4-4-4 @2.1v

I had D9GKXs with 2.45v 24/7 for 6+ months without a decrease on performance or any other prob.

For me D9GKX has worked better than the numerous D9GMHs i've tried.
