I could get over the 24-pin connection being in the center of the board but the memory slots being off-center would drive me nuts. Sure it isn't an X-38 hybrid with DDR2/DDR3? I like the lack of heatpipes, would be a nice board I imagine, hope it's cheap.

Only thing i like about this board is the lack of heatpipes...

Can anyone explain to me why nobody groups the back i/o doors? like... all 6 usb, then all the audio... that's all just a big mess

I like the heatpipeless design. But wow what a horrible layout. look at the cmos battery location, not to mention the dumb location of 24 pin. the S/Pdif is in a nice spot though.

LOL, another good-but-mediocre ASUS mobo. The 24 pin connector placement is stupid.

Well at least the mobo doesn't have a lollercoaster heatpipe system :S

That atx connector position is a joke.

How dumb can you be Asus?

The only positive thing about this board is the lack of those hyped-up heatpipes.

    What's next P5K+, P5Kspecial, P5Ksuper, P5K1-2-many?

Just cut the price of the P5K premium and we have one board that makes us all happy.

ASUS is kinda funny. they often use the same PCB for many different Boards and only put a sticker over the other name I really don't know why they think we need so much variety.

well, and the location of the 24 Pin really sucks balls. but this way the pcb should be cheaper. but I don't affiliate cheap with asus...
Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks

hmmm ok lame spot for atx connector, cool that its 8 phase (hopefully no blowing caps) but one only 4 pin power for the cpu? i wonder what affect can that have instead of it being 8pin......... i wonder if anyone ever tested 4 vs 8 pin and if there is a big difference or none.

    An open letter to Asus:
    Dear Asus,
Congratulations on your new board but if this board was the best thing since sliced bread I wouldn't buy it just because of the location of the 24 pin connector.
It could come packaged with Farrah Fawcett in her prime and I would still pass..Yes, that is how strongly I think you missed the mark with this one.
    Sincerely,
    xxxx xxxx
PS: Ok, I would take it if it had Farrah in her prime included but I'd return it after a long weekend!
