Your wallet hurts more than your head ever will with stress testing, benching

I am with Ace on this one, I do it just because I love new stuff even if it isnt that much of an upgrade, I like to actively be able to give information toward new topics and give perspective when possible on discussions about new stuff

I'm also a member of the Orthos 1000h club.

Bought a lot of PC hardware over the years that I really didn't needed, but the last year I've cooled down and no longer do I want to do stupid/unworthy upgrades.
I know this is a hobby for You and many other Xtreme Sys Forums members and it's fun reading about new hardware. My hobby is reading.

I guess a Q6600 will load the reviews twice as fast as a C2D E6600 will.
Ha Ha I'm trying hard to justify this upgrade.

Anyway I think I'll get first a Q6600 then a better mobo ( if needed ). That order.

You're right Q9450 it is. My E6600 @ 3.5GHz will hold me over. Definitely.
Then I need to get a new mobo too, but I've got some time to save up. Will keep my 2GB DDRII mem.

What board are you using now? From what I have seen alot of BIOS's have added support for 45nm even as old as P5B Deluxe.

Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 (rev. 1.0) doesn't support 1333 FSB CPU's and Gigabyte will never add this support.
So I def need a new mobo, but I don't mind buying a new one as long as the purchase can be justified.
This E6600 & GA-965P-S3 couple has treated me well, I think they deserve to die togheter, don't You think?!

Two of my least favorite components right now are my Asus P5E (X38), and my Corsair Dominator 8500Ds. Well, just this evening, after fighting the system for two days, I set the strap to 333, CPU vcore 1.300, mem to 2.34 and pushed the fsb to 410 and was greeted with this:

Edit: Everything else was set to auto

Edit: I know, my chip rocks! I think its still quite early, at least let's wait till bioses mature. I'm beginning to revere my board now.
