Some Tests on Yorkfield QX9650, 4.59GHz in water

Here we see the next generation Quadcore CPU top and bottom

    Test platform:

    CPU: QX9650
MB: ASUS P5K Premium BIOS 402
    RAM: Team Xtreem DDR667C3 1G X 2
    OS: WinXP SP2
COOLING: Enzotech SCW-01 + LAING D5 + BLACKICE GTX Extreme

    Tested by: Wongkt & TinTin

The Test will concentrate on 45nm overclocking, due to 45nm technology, overclockability of Yorkfield is better than Kentsfield, and we will see in the following test。

This Asus MB already updated the microcore in the BIOS, it can read the CPU name correctly and so the VID。

    We first have sandra test @ 445X10 = 4450MHz。

Looking into the Bandwidth, the efficiency is better than Kentsfield, 445FSB X10 already close to 9600MB/s。

And then we see superpi performance at 440X10 = 4400MHz。

    superpi 1M & 32M
    1M: 10.516s
    32M: 10min.41.734s

    And then superpi32M @ 450X10, easily pass a single Superpi32M test。

    32M: 10min.26.500s

Cinebench 10 test, 4500MHz can't pass the test, we have to lower it to 4400MHzin order to complete the test 。

    52sec. complete the 4 threads rendering task。

    Superpi 1M & 4M maxed-out at around 4590MHz。

    Superpi 1M breaks 10sec。
    Superpi 4M completed within 1min.。

    1M: 9.969s
    4M: 56.484s

The tested CPU maxed-out at about 4650MHz, with better cooling, I believe it can be clocked higher。
Sorry, don't have much time to test 3D game performance!

Very rough test, around 470FSB, hoping that it will be improved when retail arrive.

Damn, so you will have to buy a Q9550 or higher to fully enjoy all this 45nm goodness

Pardon me but what's the VID for this particular 45nm chip? I am not sure if I see it so far.

    Thx.

So, ther you have it, another very nice York breaking into sub 10 sec. territory without the need for exotic cooling.

Makes me want one even more.

If possible, test the max frequency that chip can Prime

    BTW, very nice CPU!
