Coldboot
Heh, so it seems like a not only rare issue - coldboot problems with Maximus Formula and Blitz Extreme while Penryn in LGA...
I had those problems too, one week ago - no boot when negative temperatures [DI-benching] [not like -50°C coldboot, just like 0°C - on-the-fly -70°C was OK, but any reboot was impossible... - the same Blitz Extreme two weeks earlier was running fine with LN2, boot @ -150° etc], after hours of fighting the solution was: use Giga X38-DQ6 DDR2 - no problems at all
, boot @ -78°C without any issues.
[results will be posted later
, although it was "just" a ~4,2GHz air CPU, not a 4,8GHz monster...]
It's good if it is "only" BIOS-related but who cares WHAT it is [until they release adequate BIOS], the result is [in my case] DDR2 instead of DDR3 and Windows installed on Maximus used with Giga [that made my 16M look so crappy...
].
Laying in the corner: Maximus Formula, beyond was Blitz Extreme; both useless in that case.
