NOPE.......IF you take a "good" look at my LN2 resaults, they are with ASUS Blitz Extreme and P35.....
X38 and P35 as for me, react the SAME.....
Well maybe with X38 you can work at lower speed your rams and tighter timmings.......Imagine an 975(x38) and a 965(P35) BUT not "exacly like that...

Thx hipro 5. As u can see from the time (UK), i actually went to bed last night early as have to work this morning and was in rush to get beauty sleep. I ended waking up in middle of night with my old man bladder and just checked another thread to see if i had response from the same question but didnt so quickly asked on this thread despite the fact u had answered my question already, i just didnt thave time to read through all the thread. Got time pressure as after work was tempted to pick up board and wanted quick answer Cheers again, have fun.

Don't know if the CPU used in the event was Hipro5's, but it wasn't stable at 5.25GHz where Shamino, Hipro5, and Fredyama fought for it to work at ( at least for a start ).
Perhaps it was a mobo problem or even condensation issue.

Somebody ( not to mention any names ) even pushed 2.0V @ 680i NB

I was at the event 'till it ended.
Then I was kinda forced to leave, but as far as I know the guys will give it another try at hipro5's place.

Now that I think about it, having instability @ 5.25GHz with the Yorkfield ( which more than likely was the one that Intel Hellas gave to Hipro5 ) could've to do with...the Striker Extreme, and not condensation or any other reasons.
I don't remember anybody testing a Yorkfield on nF680i SLI, could be it, we'll find out soon.

    From my place now....
We couldn't boot into windows at any speed with the Blitz Extreme and the York.....4 x HDs crashed windows....The 180lt dewar had a stucked valve.....We lost the AC power ONLY at our benching area....and things like that....

The Blitz Extreme PAIRED with the York has some problems.... We HAD to boot at -50*C and not lower coz it didn't boot.....OK I got used to it during my benching session at my place.....
Now if we go into windows and we have -145*C and we have a freeze or a crash of a bench, TWO things are hapening:
    a. mobo REBOOTS and goes into windows and everything is OK and
    b. mobo SHUTS DOWN and then it powers up...
If b. happens, we have to WAIT 1/2 hour to warm up to -50*C so we can boot again.... It doesn't boot until it reaches that temp....This is a pain in the arss and you pray that during a crash, mobo to reboot and not shut down....

Afterwards we prepaired Striker with Shamino's York......NO GO.....ONLY x6 multi (newest bios 1401) and blue screens and things like that.....Then we took out the CPU and we placed a QX6850 to do our job.....
BUT it was TOO late to play with it coz the time was late.....
So we came to my place now and tested the ASUS P5E3 WS Pro mobo UNINSULATED under LN2......It worked perfect without cold boot York problem (due to newest bios)....
Now we will stay here all night to insulate it and bench.....

That's a good start. Annoying how the Blitz is b---chy. Striker...no surprise.

How is the F1 treating you?

Edit- Vince I know you're reading this, so I repeat, sounds like amateur night. I'm getting scared that that F1 has some bad mojo too--cleanse it tonight plz.

Good to see you got a good combination now. looking forward to some numbers.

I am yet to see a good bios on 680i even though it should/will support it.

Good stuff guys, im still catching up with threads and stuff now that I got plenty of rest.

If you mean the F1 that I just bought from Vince, it's OK.....

Yes it's the same....With QX6850 it boots up to -140*C......With this York, it boots MAX at -50*C.....It's a pain in the arss to make a bench....You have to play it at a frequency that it's fully stable (5605MHz) and make sure that it won't crash your VGA on a bench....
When this happens and it REBOOTS , it's OK booting at -145*C
BUT IF it shut's down, you're scrwed........You have to wait till the temp goes up to -50*C again.....

Guys from ASUS have sent me a newer beta bios so to "recognise" York BUT acts the same......
THANK GOD with P5E3 WS Pro, it cold boots at -130*C.... and right now I'm spraying it, unsolder/solder components and insulating it so to finally bench with it easy....
YES it needs a bios update for sure and I think it'll be OK....

Bios 1401 for Striker, LEAVES the York's multi at ONLY x6 no matter if you change it or not.....

It did the same thing before too, but I was "watching" it not to reboot....Into windows it works down to -153*C.....

Good thing is that now with this WS Pro mobo we are going to be fine.....
    a. It boots Dos at 5600MHz at only -50*C
    b. It boots into windows at 5160MHz at ONLY -67*C
    c. It boots into windows at 5590MHz at -103*C

SO I think that ALL of our problems are solved....

With those Mediterranean chicks around you could get him to agree to anything huh. That's okay then, looks like someone is going to get a visit after he gets his next round done...I'll just have to find a way to deal with the dogs.

Btw, the Commando seemed to have the same cold boot issue. As long as the power was never cut though, everything was fine. Probably has something to do with those non electrolytic caps.

Can't wait to see the numbers. Thank goodness new GPU's are coming soon or else the rest of us would have no chance and no reason to bench anything for quite some time.
