I need it for my P5E non deluxe, because the max vcore in bios is only 1.7v.

    Thanks in advance !

With new bios Asus remove max vcore to 2.4 and We only have 1.7V to oc. Downgrade Your bios and You will be have vcore to 2.4V.

For me worked only up to 1.9V.

you got to be serious trying to run your vcore above 1.7....the only reason to do over 1.7v is for a max suicide run into windows to validate a max overclock.

I'm sure they will fix it. The Maximus Formula's was fixed - they are the same motherboard.

One guy removed a sticker on his P5E and it covered up 'maximus forumla'

Hopfully a Bios Update will come soon.

U can't be sure about that. Back in the 975X days i had a P5WDG2-WS which had the double restart problem forever while P5W-DH had it fixed.

Of course that doesn't mean that it won't be...

hey guys! New to the forums.

I just loaded this bios last night and they changed a few things in the AI Tweaker. They changed out the voltage damper for loadline calibration. It's worked wonders for my vdroop. It used to drop by at least .05-.06 and now i only see a .02 drop and on load it increases by .02-.04.

The board seems to be more stable running 4GB at 1600MHz. Haven't tried running it higher yet.

I definitely prefer this bios over the 0503.

Hi guys (Noob on the forums warning)

This question has probably been asked many many times, but see I just bought a Q6600 G0 stepping (SLACR) cpu and it will be cooled by a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, inside a P182B case and just intealled Asus P5E3 Deluxe Mobo (X38 finally!) And believe it or not a very wealthy but eccentric brother in law just bought me as a rushed christmas present 2x2048 (4 Gigs) of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 12800 (1600 Mhz) 8-8-8-20. He was indeed crazy to spend so much money! But hey, that's what friends are for

I'm the former owner of a X6800 Conroe (2.93Ghz), and this time I'm upgrading to a Q6600 as payoff for the money Intel ripped-off from the X6800 I want the goodness of not having to pay extra dimes again, and get good performance.

What I'm trying to do is very simple. I would like to get my Q6600 to reach 2.93Ghz or 3.00Ghz if possible. It's just a "modest" overclock, not extreme. I might try extremes later. I don't want to push it too much because I want stability, but at the same time I want the same speed as thr QX6850 (3Ghz). Viewing all the reviews and records on this CPU it shouldn't be too hard.

I've heard that the Q6600 can run undervolted and reach the speeds I wan't but I don't want to mess with memory as much as I can, I've learned my lessons with all the BSOD problems I had before.

So then what should be simplet way to achieve 3.00 Ghz assuring stability?

Well you guys have all the experience. Can you help me out?

    Thanks a bunch

PS: I've saw the vdroop mod. AWESOME! I might try it later. Is it true that this vdroop mod reduce temps as I've heard... why?

You should be able to hit 3.2GHz w/out breaking a sweat. When i was using the SLACR i hit 3.6GHz prime stable for 10 hours on air. That was only on 1.5v(actual). All you'll need to do is set your FSB to 333 and leave your multi at 9 and you'll hit 3.0. You might not even have to mess with the voltage.

being on the x38 might get you pretty good results so i say shoot for at least 3.4.

    Thanks for the reply Crazypinoy!

So 504 is for P5E3? So after that no need for Vdroop mod?

Also some of you have tried already with 1600Mhz DDR3. Would you mind posting your bios settings once you push your clocks?

I'll post my setting tonight. I have only been benching with 4GB G.Skill right now but tomorrow i'm gonna start testing 2GB.

So far I'm at 500x8 w/ the QX6700 @ 1.52v (1.5v actual). My vapo is still running strong because at this voltage i'm still getting -12c on 100% load. This is w/ the G.Skills @ 1600 w/ 7-7-7-18 so i haven't really had to mess with the memory at all.

Since i'm a little noob to these forums here's a couple pics inside my rig:
