Holy cow! I gotta jack up the shaders on my GTS to 1750MHz to match this thing! And I don't know if I can even pull that off on stock cooling!

The thing is, overclocking the memory on the GTS/GTX provided very little gain as they weren't really bottlenecked by their bandwidth. So, by overclocking the RAM on these cards to get close to the stock bandwidth of its brethren, it should perform admirably . I have two of them on order from here: http://www.pcsuperstore.com/products...88512GXPB.html . Around $495 shipped for two of them to run in SLI, yum!

The picture comes from Lavalys, the makers of Everest: http://www.lavalys.com/products/whatsnew/g92_en.png

looks like 8800gt counters rv670 - a low cost performance card.
i bet it oc's well too.
is there actually a new gts?

Lavalys is going to get into trouble over this.... regardless the new GPU is looking rather promising..

seems like this card will perform around 8800GTS 640 on most benches/games, and AND might be close to even GTX on shader intensive apps with 112SP @ 1500MHz vs GTX's 128SP @ 1350MHz... like crysis

but seems like it only has 16 , TMU/ROP and 256bit tho ... but hey at 600MHz stock 65nm , seems like it might get a 200MHz oc who knows

    wonder what the specs is for the new 8800GTS , 128SP?? 600~700MHz?? 24TMU/ROP ?? 320bit

well if the new 8800GTS doesnt provide much over GTX ill just stick with my old GTS 640 SLI (hell @ 650/1620/2000 its pretty much a stock GTX), hopefully 9800GTX and R680 is closer than we think

My guess is the TMU/ROP count on there is wrong, as far as I know the TMU's can't be uncoupled in count from the shaders on this architecture, can they? That means the proper count would be 28, no?

Now the question is can two of these in SLI beat out a GTX for the same amount of money? Or did you just throw some cash down the drain?

Gotta consider the fact that the nvidia sli chipset cant really overclock its cpu as high as an intel board can, so is lower overclocked cpu+8800GT SLi > higher clocked cpu+gtx?

Judging by the info we know, I'm quite sure two of them in SLI will trample a single GTX by a huge amount.

As far as the CPU overclocking, I have a B3 Q6600, which hasn't clocked high on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe (975X chipset board), so I'm not standing to lose any CPU speed .

Well, 8800 GT is going to be a little more powerful than 8800 GTS 640mb and at the moment two 8800 GTS 640mbs beat one 8800 GTX so I'd say two 8800 GTs outperform one 8800 GTX.

    EDIT: So slow, so slow...

    I believe so.
Though it isn't out of the question that Nvidia tweaked the architecture a bit.

Well we already saw if the pic was legit 900MHz core clock and 2250 shader clock in GPU-Z so it's just a matter if it's legit or not. But I do believe 65nm will allow a much higher core overclock and 800MHz sounds plausible but I don't think every card will do 900MHz for sure or then if they do will probably artifact like hell in 3DMark but hell even 750MHz had been nice on stock cooler that is!
