Heat isn't the limiting factor compared to B3 quads. 6GHz is probably pushing the limits of the architecture itself though, damn impressive. Maybe we'll see 6.5GHz or so but 6GHz was done with obscene vcore.

OCFX yes, D9GTR AND D9GTS DDR3 does 1T at those insane speeds and timings.

    Retail chips will be similar.

    930mhz on 1T is insane.

By the way, using Deltas for air cooling is like cheating

Glad I have an E2140--I'll wait out newer revisions of Yorkie for about the next 8 months--if I can hold it. If not, I'll be looking at getting a nice Yorkie (Q9450) in 1Q2008.

SSSE3 is the Supplemental SSE3 implanted by Intel in their Conroes to add a few SSE4 extensions into their chips before anyone else... wich gave them a sure advantage over AMD in encoding, even more than just architectural evolution

    Hi Fugger

Are those names of new IC's?

If, what memory are they used in?

If they can run 1T @ 900+ those DDR3 are really getting there...

Charles, please allow me to answer that one

    PRJ,
Lately a list of D9GTR has been applied to the memory section on XS... GTS are not actually avalible yet, just spoke with Charles at messenger, I havnt had the honor of playing with GTS yet, however, I expect my 4x1GB GTR to arrive by tomorrow, and will get some GTS as soon as possible - A friend of mine and I will bench soon, and results will be posted at this site, and perhaps a couple of danish sites, but not by me as far as the danish sites goes..
I'll keep you informed if you'd like me (comparing GTR / GTS)

PS: GTR is expected to do 900-1100 mhz 7-6-6-xx - GTS I dont know yet..

EDIT: Your from Næstved... Well, if you stop by Slagelse, you can follow our session...

The low vcore on these overclocks (even compared to G0) is just stunning.

WOW! Glad I moved from Amd when I did. Stuck with them for eight straight years, but I saw the hand writing on the wall with Q6600.

    Hi M.Beier

    Thanks for your reply

Hey.... your not that far away and Slagelse apparently got better hardware supply, than Nęstved does.

I“ll be looking forward to reading you reviews with those chips and I“d appriciate if you would inform me. Thanks for the invite, I“ll keep that in mind.

Reading this thread convinced me to wait just a little bit longer!

I can't wait until I get my hands on a yorkfield.

This is great. Like others have said tho.... I'll believe it when i see it in retail.

Also..... When it comes to making claims with air cooling. It would be nice if we saw indications that this was in a room that is 'normal' room temperature and that the fans being used weren't as loud as a commercial jet. All the same though..... very impressive results and things are looking full speed ahead for intel.

As for the "poor AMD" comments. Don't count them out just yet. High clock speed does not always equate to better performance. I am still holding onto hopes that AMD can give intel another run for it's money.

Yeah, I'm not going to say doom and gloom for AMD yet...
