No freakin way...why did Koolance have to make this??

    http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...roducts_id=559

Remember the Polarflo TT conversion? And how nothing for the D5 has been released since??

This is kind of amazing considering how Koolance has been bashed for the radiator scheme. They seem to be surpassing many companies in the Accessories/Novelty category quite quickly.

    Remarks?

wanna see a picture of the volute...not holding my breath though.
IIRC the D5 and D4 had a very intricate and specialised design in the "top".
This is more than likely just like the DDc top from koolance which misses the mark in everything except style.

So now the D5 can intake from an off-center location? The impeller's intake is still dead center....wtf koolance?

And is no one else going to point out the fingerprint in the top right of the front surface?

OMFG Koolance cant even use some Windex! FTL.

    haha I see that lol.

Plus is that an extra outlet in the CENTER of the top? OK so let's use that as the outlet and the off-kilter inlet and we get great performance

It just came out, so I doubt theres any numbers yet. I'm going to order one and examine it as well as run a flow comparison with the stock cover, since there is nothing else currently available to compare to...

edit: if anyone else wants to do it too, go ahead! (Ive got a lot to do)

Damn....... I hate to say it - But it does look SWEET! I have never "Besides Joecop120's post" Ever seen an after market top for the D5. I just googled!
Can someone point me to some aftermarket ones for sale? and if so - why are the tops performance readings not here? Just Curious!

Even if this does actually improve performance a significant, noticeable amount, why? At $59 + shipping, you can get a used (or new for $10 more) DDC or D5 to add redundancy and almost assuredly more performance than a single D5 with the top alone.

Not saying it shouldn't be made - it's just doesn't look to have anywhere near the price/performance value of DDC tops. It still looks sweet though

Looks pretty, I just hope that the quality is better than it was on the first DDC tops (dunno if they are better now)..

i hope your kidding about this.

For all i care koolance can come out with a special limited edition made of silver and hand signed by britney spears her self. It will still be crap in my eyes unless solid tests are done by independent people.

The only thing i see koolance doing this is because this way they can use a stable and reliable D5 in there loops to promote reliability.

Aftermarket covers aren't made anymore for the D5, which leads me to believe they are solely aesthetic!
-My purpose in buying the 3 I've got was to use various barb sizes and styles, without using a reducer. In the case of using a 3/8" barb size, there would be a performance decrease from the added restriction.
