Are there any drawbacks to not watercooling the maximus formula but instead putting a fan over it ?
i found nothing that said it was a new package or stay the old one...i think they want to keep AMD guessing!
On to Nehalem!
This is where things really get interesting. Intel based Penryn on the Core 2 Duo architecture it designed for the 65nm process. Nehalem should take full advantage of the 45nm process Intel will introduce this year. Here's what Intel has planned:
Two threads per core
Up to eight cores on a chip
An integrated DDR3 memory controller
Integrated graphics on some chips
Dedicated cache memory on each core, plus a large shared cache.
Production will begin in 2008

Is it me, or does the maximus even with loadline calibration have rediculous vdroop?
My p5k premium used to take 1.425v to be stable, I am now priming 12hour at 1.4875. Thats quite a difference, all other voltages are well within reason, oh well least im sub 1.5v at 3.6ghz and finally got a handling on the performance of this board.
my vdroop is from 1.5875 down to 1.52
gar i got 4 sticks goin on my dq6 only up to 1100mhz![]()

Bro, try 2 sticks, that board def has issues with 4 sticks, also try running occt with 4 sticks.....i couldnt get 4 sticks stable on that board for the life of me, but 2 sticks clocked like a monster!!
although 1100 for 4 sticks isnt bad at all i gotta say, as long as its stable i would take it.
